Great stuff in this thread. i think we should also send this to GW, so they can take these great ideas into account.

On a more personal note, I wnder if we are ever going to get an update.

I personally wouldn't expect an update for awhile. I am hoping they show us a little love in the GH2. Some "quality of life" point adjustments could be nice.

meh, just fix magic... our core army doesn't need much additions if that was done..

When someone prefixes something by saying it's a personal opinion, it's generally not useful or helpful to respond with a meh or trump it with your own opinion. This thread is more about objective and constructive conversation.

I don't think that's what @Canas meant to do, I think he was just presenting his own opinion :)

Didn't mean to do that, simply meant I agreed and that "some quality of life improvements" in my opinion would more or less boil down to "fixing magic" (or at least getting started with that). And meh is basicly a stopword I use rather frequently :p. My apoligies if it came across the wrong way.

Bump because related to this thread:

Does anyone know about Seraphon armies in the last few big tournaments? Did Seraphon (or mixed Order armies containing a noteworthy amount of Seraphon units) reach places in, let's say, the top20? And if yes: How did those armies look?
    Adepticon AoS tournament for example.
Are there any good sources for that on the Internet? I only found lists saying "Order" or "Death" but nothing more.

Sheffield Slaughter 2017 winner had a mixed order with skinks as the battleline. To be fair it had more Kurnoth hunters and waywatchers than anything.

Sounds like skinks were the cheapest shootiest battleline they could fine for that to me...

You underestimate how good they are, could have gone for fyreslayers Vulkite berserkers. Shooty, great saves, but slower. Wary fighters is one of the best abilities in the game for a cheap battleline unit. Especially when usin them as chaff to protect the celestial hurricanum.

I just haven't had much luck with them just yet! I'm going to have 20 of them in my 1100 point list for the next phase of the escalation league though, so will have to see what they can do then.

Play them as a throw away unit but with immunity to +1 rend combined with wary fighter and 8 movement make them a very versatile unit.

I always play 50 Skinks and I really liked them, even their damage.
....until I saw what other ranged units can do. I think the Skinks should get more range (18 or 20 perhaps) and they would be on par with others.

I use a small group of 10 as chaff/objective claimers and the rest to really shoot, it works surprisingly well when buffed by a Skink Chief and/or an Astrolith Bearer and/or a Shadowstrike Starhost.

Huh? They only ignore rend -1

The player did an extensive interview on the Heelanhammer podcast and I would recommend giving it a listen. He considers Skinks to be the best battleline for Order but his list is decisively NOT a Seraphon list. His army is incredibly heavy on shooting and the Skinks are necessary for slowing down opponents and then running forward to grab objectives after his shooting annihilates things. They are not expected to provide any offense whatsoever and are mostly there because they are cheap and have Wary Fighter.

I hope in our next book we can get an allegiance ability that gives us a 5+ save against mortal wounds for units
