So I was talking to the guys at the local store one day mentioning how I wished that Lizardmen has something properly 'dragony' in their army, even though they had cool things like dinosaurs, and didn't really need it. It wasn't long after that I spotted the Coatl in a piece of art in the book, and thought it would be perfect. I'm kinda thinking that it would work really nice counting as an Ancient Stegadon with an Engine of the Gods. Then it'd be something good and magical and big and fierce... sorta. I was looking at both the Lord of Change and giant eagle wings, but was really wondering what would be good to use for the body?
Coalts are flying creatures. EOTG don't have "flying" in their rules. Nevertheless, Reaper Miniatures has a coalt flying serpent, it might be a little small though.
A Coatl would be pretty cool, especially if it was a Terror-causing flying Mount for a lvl 3 Skink Priest or something. I would start with a High Elf Star Dragon, and build it without wings or feet (or any elfy bits). Then sculpt feathers all over with Green Stuff, and add the wings from the Lord of Change model. Then add some glyphs and stuff to make it look Lizardy. Then just attach it to the rocky base that came with the Dragon and voila! Instant Coatl.
I am planning making the Coatl myself. I would use the body of the high elf dragon along with some wings from the lord of change. I would treat it as a Carnosaur, but if my opponent is okay with it I'll give it flying for about thirty more points. the look of the model should be like asrodrig.
In my opinion, a carnosaur flying would be worth more than 30 points... In fact, a big flying creature like that is easily the equal of a dragon (the carnosaur munches them, just doesn't fly) so I would probably make it take an extra hero slot as well as costing more points. Tough to work out though, probably best to just leave it as an aesthetic thing.
I know I just don't want to spend another hero slot or to many points. and I would love if I could trick someone into accepting that deal(don't tell anyone )
Well thankyou for the ideas. And I was just planning on having it as a "counts as" thing myself. With a Skink Priest riding an EotG seeming to be the best combination of raw and magical power.
