8th Ed. how do you get hero points?

Sorry sysadmin, but rules section was the best place to put it as I know that the more knowledgeable members frequent this dark and gloomy hole.

 

Seriously though, what are they? Why are they here? When do you get them?

 

I think it was 25% of your army's value .... IRC.
(the equipment you give your hero counts too)

 

@n810 is correct. If you're playing with the end times rules then the limit is increased to 50%.
