Speaking of which, I worked last night on "Green Stuffing" this Dark Pegasus for my Dark Elves. I drilled and set a magnet in it's back so that I can have the option to swap my Supreme Sorceress and Dreadlord out with the Black Dragon. Forgive my Green Stuff work. I'm not very good at it. I plan on magnetizing it to a flight stand as well.

It's always good to have someone with lots of stuff in a gang... or gaming group... ;)

Yeah, most of my friends get overwhelmed by all of it and tell me that I just have "too much stuff". Meh, it's my hobby.

You can always smooth up green stuff after it's dry,
with either sandpaper, a file, or just a sharp hobby knife.

Making more progress on the Pegasus. I got the other wing on last night and I'm waiting for the Green Stuff to set up for 24 hours before I do anything else with it.

Well, the Dark Pegasus and riders are now modeled, dry and magnetized! Now it off to priming and painting!

So I've been toying with various ideas about what type of base I want to go with on my Dark Elves and I think that I've come to a solution.
I found this tutorial and really liked the results.

    http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/43463-tutorial-creating-ice-bases/

I've never tried anything quite like this so it'll be an experiment for me. I've ordered a jar of the Distress Crack Paint Rock Candy. Does anyone have any experience using this or something like it?

Also, has anyone ever used a Clear Epoxy for Water Effects before? What type/brand did you use and do you have any helpful advice?

Not really... Best of luck. :oldman:

Might be best to do a practice piece first, maybe on an empty base ?

Yeah, I'm going to practice with it on some cardboard like the tutorial suggests first. I suppose it'll largely depend on how liquid this stuff is. If it's consistency is closer to water, then I'll have to devise a way to contain it on the top of the base. If it's thicker, then I might be able to work with a little more freedom.

It's the clear epoxy that I'm really unsure about. I have no idea what kind to get. There's a lot of variations out there apparently.

Mostly look for how thick you can pour it while still having it cure.
some you can only do in 1/8" pours at a time with like a 24 hour cure time before you can add another layer,
others you can do like 4 inches with an 8 hour cure time...

also beware that most epoxies shrink a little as they cure.

Ps. maybe get an account over at Reaper to ask those guys more question about their experiences.

    Heresy!

But they look fantastic. An entire unit of those knights on dark Pegasus (Pegasi?) would look fantastic, something like Bretonnian Pegasus knights.

I repainted my Luthor Huss / Mounted Warrior Priest the other night. He was in need of much repair. IMG_7244.JPG

I've also started working on a set of Unicorns for my daughters someday. (I'll have to give them SOME incentive to play with me!)

Lol, Ballerina on flying Unicorn manning a Gatlin Gun! Love it! I bet the Gatling Gun shoots rainbow farts!

On a side note, I have considered getting those Woolys as a cheaper Squig alternative. I'm still up in the air about that though.

Lol, that's perfect! I didn't even read it the first time! I think that's exactly how most of the conversations in our house are going to go. Okay, now I have to get one of those. This guy knows how to appeal to Daddys....
