Well, since people have started posting their WIPs, I shall do the same. It is not my custom to post unfinished models or terrain pieces, but since I still have a lot to do, here we are:

    Volcano lava lake

Now I need to learn, how to paint lava. Never have I done that before. ) :)

Looks great. How did you make the lava rock?

    Thank you. ) :)

That is expanding foam, shaped to be less "bubbly" and more rock-like. Once the foam is still nice and wet and has just started expanding (1-2 minutes after application approximately) shape it with some kind id metal or plastic stick. Poke holes, make trenches, etc. at the end the result is going to be like on the pictures above. It does require some mastery, but it is really easy to learn these tricks.

I still want to try making ordinary mountains and hills with it, but haven't really had time for it. There is a tutorial online how to make it:

I am not entirely sure I like the final result, but still worth a try, I guess! :)

Edit: Should anybody be interested I can try that in a couple o'days (since I am on vacation) and let you know of my results. And I may even post some pics should the rock be any good. )

Thank you. But You are too kind, really. )

I meant the results the guy in the video got though. I'll give his technique a try, but not sure I like how his rock turned out.

Well, I've finished my "Altar" terrain project! I made it simple so that I could get double use out of it as a unit filler for my Goblins as well! Sorry about the poor pics. I snapped some right quick before I left for work this morning. I'll try setting up a light box and taking better photos tonight. I also included a little additional unit filler just for fun while I was making the Altar.

I know it's probably nothing like what other's here are going to produce, but it fit my gaming needs. I hope you like it!

Better than mine, let's say it's still in the planning stage after I scrapped my first effort

That altar looks excellent! And using it as a unit filler is a brilliant idea!

Agree, it looks nice and barbaric. Perfect for Bonesplitterz or other Orruks, Grots or Ogres. For some more it would also be fitting.
    Great job!

    Looks very good, indeed! :)

Very clever use of the Aranarok catapult piece. Would go very mice with forest goblins army.

Fantastic work @Chicken Lips , a great and characterful filler. Looks like a great use of giant-spider bits!

Well guys, with the kitchen extension really limiting my hobby time I don't think I'm going to finish my terrain in time, I'm down to 2hrs a week if I'm lucky.

I'm really disappointed and hope it does not stop you all completing your projects.

I will keep plodding on with it, really sorry guys :(

A shame, really! However kitchen extension should always be a priority! (I wouldn't really mind having a bigger kitchen myself!) :)

BTW, is there any restriction as to number of images we can post? Or we can do whatever we want? )

I'm also not sure if I will be able to finish this on time... maybe we could add another week?
Otherwise I'll have to admit that I bit of more than I could chew... sadly... had some cool fluff for the "Three Gates trading post"...
Will try to quickly build a single piece which I'll be able to use for both, the challenge and the bigger project...
