Actually if would, maybe remove the legs and replace where the wings go with wings from the griffon kit, then it would mean working out and attaching the body to the rock

If you really wanted to make it simple, just adding some feathers here and there would sell it too I think.

Seeing all the converted models made of dinosaur toys wanted me to jump on that wagon, but being mostly a person that plays down a GW store proxies of such things aren't usually allowed. Still I went and ordered myself a dinosaur for the model work, got it in the mail today. I didn't knew it was a schleich one until I saw the labels, haha there is me focusing on the Papo dinosaurs to forget some of the existing dinosaurs from that collection.

At the moment deciding on which base to use and where to begin really, as it's my first time.

That's a nice Dimetrodon model. I saw it at my local toy store and thought "Dammit why isn't this smaller, it would be such a great Salamander"

What I do when using a plastic dino is think what do I want from it, is it a mount, is it going to be part of a pack etc.

@Aginor Yeah there aren't many good looking Dimetrodons around that are Salamander size, so I'm making a giant Salamander.

Planning on making it as a giant Salamander to go in the middle of the others, debating whether to make a special handler for it.
Now mostly thinking do I have to keep the paint on and just spray over, not sure if using paint stripper will melt the toy.

They spray over ok but use an acrylic car primer as they dry and allow for a little flex.

Many thanks, will have to ask my dad if has any spare. Will also have to wait for the warmer weather too, freezing out in the shed when it comes to spraying

Slowly doing work on the giant salamander conversion, also got some Squigs built ready for the new year, just need to work out colours for them.
At the moment I am looking over my expanding options for the Tyranids, funny enough the opponent went on about on a discord, I get to see where he was best at, saying about his melta guns did this and his tank did that. Seemed to forget that I lurk about on there, so it left me a bit on the bitter side like how I usually get, so it's a debate whether get more Carnifexes and make some screamer-killers or get some ambushers like the Lictor. I'm not a competitive person at times but sometimes my irritation creeps through, especially losing my Carni immediately.

Been trying my best to get some miniatures together before the end of the year, Squigs done, working on the Salamander and the Ghorgon.... well I goofed there so trying to work out a way to attach the extra pair of arms or I might have to leave him with just the one pair.
Mostly because I've been having a huge lack of internet, only have a chance to get a few hours in, mostly because the internet keeps going off. Haven't had much effort to work on other things, so just been slowly putting miniatures together to empty the boxes. IMG_20171224_090900286.jpg

Back in the new year and I thought I was going have another year of suffering painting but with the new Malign Portents coming, GW are making a ton of competitions; which will hopefully get me kick started again.
Let's just say the Chaq'Kai are returning

    IMG_20180104_141630333.jpg

Also been spending on rats and a bit of Khorne ha, the Khorne model is for conversion work though for the lizards. Clanrats are for Gutter Runners as it will just work out expensive but the actual models.

Doing some work on the Chaq'Kai saurus, carrying on with them as they were found with only rough basecoats. Next is highlighting the face, might also apply a wash as I drybrushed with Dawnstone and it looks too much grey now on the scales. Hard to tell as it is very cloudy today, will have to bring them out to better light so I can check properly.

Been highlighting the faces and they look tons more better than the previous Chaq'Kai models, today was putting some Cold One riders together... I hate how I have to keep nearly everything separate with them. Makes it easier to paint but it's still a pain. Also applied that nuln oil layer and they look better now.

Finally got a cabinet for the painted miniatures, wasn't from the uncle though cause he is just taking too long. This one was second-hand but it still does the job.
Hopefully it will keep some of the dust off, starting to slowly fill it, was going to put the skaven scenery board in there but that fell apart (mostly the wheel) How comical because Skaven scenery, Skaven. Things they make tend to fall apart or go wrong at some point. Gluing that back together but it won't now, will have to keep trying.

And the workroom is the worse for natural light, only in the morning it actually gets light

Cabinets are cool. They make our miniatures decorative items when not in use for playing.

You are right its hard to see, but the way that picture was taken with the flowery shades in the background it looks like that trogo-dragon had a giant wing-frill coming out the side of its neck! Like one of those frill-lizards! o_O

    I can see the frill-lizard now :D

Also hopes that it will result in less broken miniatures in the future but all these ones where on the shelf.

Been painting away for my entry, even though it's slow, still going with obsidian-like colours for the armour and that. Been trying to work out what to do for the weapon parts like the tip of the spears. So far they have been based in Kantor blue and highlighted in pink but I don't like the looks of it much.
The obsidian is having slight changes to how I did it previously, going with the black and slight purple shade then highlighting with sotek green and white.

With the changes to the opening times down at GW, it has threw me off a bit (and a few others apparently) It might end up a thing I might be getting less miniatures as usual. Funny how a small hour change can affect a lot. We get into town early and get things done and go home really, the store is the last thing on the list to do before going home. Hmmmmmm
