Celestra grey base, wash with Drakenhof then layer with Ulthuan grey and spot highlight with White scar

This scheme looks better painted up than it did in the polls thread.

You nailed it! Definitely better than GW's interpretation of it. This will be a good looking army!

Dang I didn't think I would be a fan of this color scheme, but your work is truly stunning! :wideyed:

Edit: any plans for supporting dinosaur colors?

Wow just wow. This is a truly unique color. Warrior that usually looks “good” looks unique and amazing. I love it

Black and yellow and purple and yellow are two of my favorite color combinations. I am in love with those models.

I was planning on going for a more "earthy" feel with my army (I just got started on it :p) but after seeing these! I may just have to reconsider my palette. I am really new to all this, so any advice you could give me (preferably on this thread: http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/new-to-this.20675/#post-214920) would be helpful.

    Small update.

No painting being done at the moment but I have reached a decision concerning the models I have left to paint 90% of them are getting a basic table top standard.

All standard troops are being drybrushed and not layered, and I will spend more time on heros etc, time is limited now as my son is taking all my free time (which I'm happy with)

Also this will hopefully show you guys that you can take shortcuts and still have great looking models, my Black Templar, Death guard and Death rattle will all me tabletop standard, I reckon I can paint them all in Feb, they are all base coated (love the airbrush/spray can).

The Death rattle just need a wash of Nihilakh oxide then a light drybrush of white.

The Death guard will be extreme drybrushed then washed and rusted up etc

The Black Templar will take longer as they have white parts which will be a nightmare to paint smoothly.

I'm teasing, I'm sure they will look fantastic (and far better than what most of us mere mortals can accomplish)! :)

    Paint for the paint god!

I made the decision based on, I paint them they then sit in a drawer and come out once a month or so, I can dedicate more time to terrain etc once I get the bulk of troops done.

Just wait a year or so... then get an old t-shirt form one of you adults and put it on the child... while they are small enough it's easy to cover them completely from head to toe this way... should keep the wife relaxed till the point when the furniture is suffering...;)
