Yep, with the color scheme on the box. they where on of the first couple of Lizardmen units I put together. I think Short Bow skinks where the first ones...
I know it's not scale-y and all that but today I rescued from oblivion my Bretonnians (stored in a box for over 12 years) and I thought it would be interesting to show what my painting style was back then. Some will be updated with more contrast but for the most part they will stay as they are.
Well, this is a hidden jewel I just found! Back in the day I used to work as a sculptor and as such from time to time I treated myself with a shiny new toy. I used to run a peasant Bretonnia army and needed a BSB Paladin on foot, not easy to find back in the day so I made myself one, well to be precise I STARTED to make myself one but never got to finish it. I will be finishing him in my spare time but for now this is it. Hope you like him!
Thanks! Yes, its just a wire armature, GS and some pieces of plastic. At that point I was offered the chance of working as a full time sculptor and I knew I could have made a living out of it but University kicked me in the nuts and real life put an end to my career.
Well done Sir @Itepixcauh ! Big fan of Bretonnians myself, and I must say though yours are from "back then" they are truly beautiful.
So I've managed to do a bit of painting! Painted three more Skinks, taking the count up to a whopping SEVEN! Will show them once I have 10 as I feel that is a good enough number. Started painting my Mounted Skinks and mounted Mage-Priest, still basecoating though. I also treated myself to something nice, I'm very excited ad I LOVE this miniature, it's just the badass-est skink ever: Hope you like him!
Love the miniatures and love your paintjob. Truly an epic miniature, you have done him justice and then some. PLEASE upload the pictures when you finish this
I really do! Fluff question: Is there any information what the cute skink-like chameleon creature is? The green one that is hiding behind the stone.
Lovely work there mate I love the sculpt on that Bretonnian dude as well. I miss those guys actually… Once upon a time I had a small army of them but I had to store it in a friend's basement as I left to study abroad for a while, and since then the basement was robbed a couple times so bye-bye Bretonnia Can't wait to see what you'll be getting up to next.
@Itepixcauh your work is amazing as always, beautiful work! That... or he is about to go help a long-haired, blond princess escape from a tower.
Don't think I'm not doing my chores! Next project has been delayed for a long, long time and it's a big one. In fact last picture from it is in page one of this blog! To see the full reveal you are going to have to wait a bit longer. In the meantime, a small teaser:
