We already know that there are a large number of Star Wars fans here (@NIGHTBRINGER, @ravagekitteh, @Warden, @HeirofCarnage, @Aginor @PurpleandGold @n810 to name but a few) but are any of you figure collectors? If so, how many do you have, which figs and from which films? Primarily most of my figs are from Episode 1 (surprise surprise) from the 2012 range, but I do have figs from other films including an Empire Strikes Back Vader in the infamous reaching out to Luke pose and a Jango Fett from 2002 when Attack of the Clones came out. What are your opinions on the change in 2014 to 5POA and the Black Series becoming Wal-Mart exclusive? They’ve got really nice sculpting on them but they’re not that good for battle scenes I feel, but then my opinion only stems from the Episode 7 figures. I haven’t been able to get any of the Rogue One figures yet (bottom lip wobbles) and the Last Jedi Ones are still a bit expensive I feel. As for the Black Series becoming a Walmart exclusive, I’m furious, although salvation is on the horizon as the Vintage Collection is to return (and hopefully to Britain too!).

    Please discuss! :)

I got a bunch of Hasbro star wars vehicles and a couple of figures from back in the 80's/90's
sadly a lot of them are in rough shape as I got a lot of them second hand even back then.
    (AT-AT, B-wing, X-wing, Imperial Shuttle, etc...)

I don't have any now but I used to have all the ones from the 80ies, I can remember saving cornflake packet tokens and sending off for Nien Nunb, happy days.

There was actually an exhibition of Star Wars figures from the 70s and 80s called May the Toys be with you I went to recently and I saw loads of these old figures still in mint condition, which was really exciting. They’re not as good as the ones now (even the modern 5POA ones) but then they didn’t have the advanced sculpting techniques we have now, and it was really nice to see them all. At one point on this thread I’ll upload all my pictures I took. It’s been touring the South of England for a while (it’s in Basingstoke at the moment) - has it already been up north yet or is it to go up north later on?

I don't have any of the proper figures, but I do have absolutely loads of Lego Star Wars minifigures, along with the various sets they came in. Some are more intact than others though

I never understood why I should buy miniatures to be honest.
    Something to play with? Yes.
    Something to paint? Yes.
Something to...put onto a shelf gathering dust? No thanks.

I don’t put my Star Wars figures on a shelf to gather dust, I keep them in a box ready for when I wish to play with them again. Also they’re fully painted 3.75” figures that I’m talking about, not anything like Star Wars Legion or anything like that.

    Always wanted Slave one....

Well Revell do a large amount of different Star Wars models and I have made a couple (Anakin’s Starfighter from Episode 3 and a Republic Gunship).

    https://www.revell.de/en/star-wars.html

And it looks as if they’ve released Boba’s Slave 1. I think I’ll wait for Jango’s Slave 1 (Jango was so much better).

Anyway, this thread is for collectors of 3.75” Hasbro/Kenner Star Wars figures to discuss what’s going on in the world of Star Wars figures.

Yeah and that's what I was asking about, do they need painting, are they used in a game etc?

Edit, googled it and I get it now, apologies for derail ;).

No not that kind of model - you were right first time about Hasbro figures and vehicles, and they would be from the 90s because Hasbro took over in the 90s. @Crowsfoot accidentally derailed the thread to be about Star Wars models rather than Star Wars toys.

Let me make this absolutely clear - anything about Revell Star Wars or any other model and not toy subject I’m NOT interested in hearing about on this thread, so DON’T post it. Anything about EITHER Hasbro OR Kenner toys and vehicles I AM interested in hearing about, so post away.

    GOT IT?

No Star Wars... but Star TREK I got just these two dudes sitting under my computer screen:

    warden201802_desk.jpg

Picard (in Galen costume from one of the two-parter episodes) and Data in his dress uniform. My wife got them as a surprise gift at a store once upon a time, and they have graced my computer desk ever since.

I did have some other Star Trek TNG figures as a kid (most of the bridge cast) but I don't think I have them any more, maybe buried in an attic box somewhere.

Star Wars all I think I had was the lego X-Wing, Tie Fighter, and maybe a few others (brother has those now).

Looks neat, I always wanted to buy an Enterprise model someday. I was even considering branching out to Star Trek Attack Wing finally too, but the scale bothers me a bit. I might start out with the attack wing stuff and get some larger model-kits to flesh out a few of the fleets... but I got enough of a warhammer backlog to finish first :D

Ah yes, the old Playmates figures. I unfortunately never had any of them as they came out largely before I was born or when I was far too young to be a Star Trek fan.

Anyway, haven’t updated this thread in a long while so I thought I’d better do so!

Over here in Britain in the past year we have had a sudden windfall of Black Series figures from 2014-2017 imported specially from America by the Entertainer, one of the various toy retailers here, and for me it has been a dream come true - the Black Series figures (and the newly-resurrected Vintage Collection that continues it) are the best-quality figures to be had these days, and at £5 each it is simply no contest. Throughout the summer I managed to pick up a Tusken Raider, a Clone Sergeant Phase 1, Admiral Ackbar and Jedi Luke all with exceptional articulation and accessories. Really happy with them all - that’s my Original Trilogy Collection fleshed out a bit!

Furthermore, today I was exploring a WHSmith and on the clearance shelf they had this Plo Koon figure from the Clone Wars, back from the days when there was just a single line of Star Wars figures, all good-quality and even with their own battle game cards and dice (from 2011-2012):
    428EE77F-F793-49BA-83EE-39FACA24AB9C.jpeg

I’m extremely pleased with him. I never thought I would get a Plo Koon now that Disney very rarely release Prequel and Clone Wars figures and I’m really looking forward to getting him out - he’s been in his packaging for far too long! ;)

No worries - I just set this thread up in the off-chance that there were one or more other Star Wars figure collectors around. It’s quite a popular hobby, especially so with Star Wars figures in particular. Originally, like other film franchises like Harry Potter and Middle-Earth, Star Wars figures were only produced until all three Original Trilogy films had been released (in those days by Kenner), and they then disappeared pretty quickly. It was only when news of Episode 1 being in the works started circulating around 1995 when Hasbro purchased the licence to make new action figures and have been continuing to make them ever since.

In any case, this thread will always be here in case you or anyone else here wishes to start collecting Star Wars figures, and I might be able to advise you on where to start (as it’s one of the relatively few things I’m not a youngling in :p)
