Blog Ritual's Army - Lizard on Lizard Action (For the Waaaaagh!)

Been quiet around these parts, started the new job this week so not really had any time for forumising.

I did, however, finish painting the last 3 death things so I can actually field a painted army tomorrow evening!

 

Probably get or convert a black coach, and another unit of hexwraiths to get me to about the 2k mark... Will see how it plays tonight.

Then I'm cracking on with the Destruction army for a bit, I'd like to get that somewhere near playable by the end of May so I can play it at Warhammer World when I'm up there for the Eavy Metal NMM masterclass.

 

Looking awesome! I don't think I ever painted an entire army like that and you did that pretty quickly… good going there!

Won all three games, poor Skaven bastards didn't know what hit them...

First game we did a wildcard have which was kill the courier... Two Mournguls made their first turn 9" charges and wiped out the courier unit. Over before it even began.

Second game was closer, went on a long time... In the end it was one Mourngul left Vs two of his units with a couple of models left. Once that Mourngul started getting health back it was over.

Final game we did 1k points as we were getting low on time. He played a small group of shooty boys... One Mourngul and 12 spirit hosts surrounded them turn one.

The Mourngul didn't make the charge but both spirit host units did and surrounded them. After that it was just a matter of time.

Can see it being incredibly hard to kill at low points, such a great little killing machine. Spirit Hosts with Keldrek are actually insane... Mortal wounds on 5s with that amount of swings it just brutal.

 

Fantastic rollup and pictures, and that is a beautiful battle board you got to play on as well!

 

I'll have something new and shiny for you by the weekend, got some motivation for an old project... Spoilers are on instagram.

In the meantime, the Nighthaunt army are now 6/6 for wins and become more and more brutal. Such an efficient army. KoS boosting Spirit Hosts is ridiculous and I'm surprised not more common. Too much focus on the new Death book I think. I've beaten all variations of Skaven filth including pure shooty and pure melee Stormfiends, and Sky Dwarves with ease.

Got a full 8 hours of gaming on Friday planning, 12-4 playing my regular opponant - will be playing the new army which is almost finished, and then in the evening we're teaming up for the first time in a doubles match against two unknowns, Death will be being played in that so I can dish out pain on something else... I will report back!

 

Super easy to paint.

Knight of Shrouds gives +1 to hit, turns mortal wounds on a 6 to mortal wounds on a 5... literally doubles the mortal wound output of Spirit Hosts, turning them into brutal killing machines.

A fyreslayers army cursed and turned to stone, found by a yet to be named jade wizard who managed to reanimate them and now has his own personal stone army.

Off for their first outing today, I've got 8 hours of games planned.

 

I like them. The throne and it gold stamps on the magmadroth should have been painted green like the axes.

How did you get the stone effect? Drybrushing?
