Worked on the triplanes bases today, my painting area is very messy: All of the planes are going to be magnetized to their bases. Most are just on little bits of ruined buildings, but the tallest one will be on a telephone pole! My order of GW washes/shades came in today, and I experimented with the biel-tan green shade on the ork skin (green wash), and the results are looking pretty good.
I am having way to much fun basing these guys, so I had to go take some more pictures of them on their newly magnetized bases! They are looking like a real flying circus now! Spoiler: Ork Triplanes
Taking a break from the Orky vehicles to go back and paint some actual Orks! My Ork nobs are mostly complete, with some extra detail work on the armor to get done, and the illustrations on their back banners need to be completed. These guys are mostly a test of all the ork clan colors, I got at least one of each going right now. I will probably do each unit of boyz in a different clan color so I can tell them apart. I spent some time giving them all a quick sand-and-rubble basing job as well: I also experiemented this week on putting together an ork zeppelin, but so far my efforts have ended in failure, mostly because I have gotten the size wrong. My initial plan was to make the zeppelin large enough so a group of 10-12 orks could fit in the box underneath (gondola? I don't think that's the word, not sure). but I think that plan isn't going to work simply because the resulting zeppelins will be WAAAAY bigger than I intended them to be. We shall see what happens in next attempt... Spoiler: Ork Zeppelin Planz
Great job @Warden . Your work is always so fun and imaginative. Plus you are extremely productive. You and @Lord-Marcus have an amazing output of painted models.
Right now the checkers on my orks is better viewed from a distance (orks aren't very good painters and neither am I ) I am pretty sure I used a method I saw over on the Round Table actually for painting Bretonnians, Its pretty simple, I can't find the tutorial but here it is in picture form:
