Not hard at all, its like wooden lego that fits together easily. Some minor parts are easily broken tho. And sticks together very well with PVA glue. Only mistake I made was putting two floors upside down.. Matters little once painted but now its just blank and no details on it
Got the Start Collecting Tyranids box today Love the Trygon, such a fun model to build! If the weather is as warm and sunny as today I will sit outside and paint them tomorrow I think.
I certainly like Tyranids. Well....I like many of them. Not the ones using guns though. I prefer tehm beast-like.
Spent the day sitting outside and painting in the sun. Didn't expect to get them all finished but here we go hehe.. I loved to paint the Trygon. On other news, I ordered two groups of these (x20) not sure what kind of heads to go for. Since they are meant to be depict the planet defense force I dont want to go for the regular Guardsmen head. I have some spare Tempest heads, will see if they fit otherwise I will look for something else. Also, I wish to give a go at working with green stuff. Planning on making the planetary governor of this mining world I made up. Been looking around for some models to work with and the best base model I can find at the moment is this one from Anvil Industry. Simpel model and I like the pose, what I wish to do is try and sculpt a fur cape/coat around his back to give him a more "imperial" look. This governor has not been named yet, but I imagine this man to be a good Imperial Lord with a big love for art and natural beauty. To his disappointment he was placed to govern a mining world as to a paradise world which had worked so hard towards. While mining what the Imperium required from them, this man spend much time and wealth on trying to preserve nature. Now with the Tyranids on the planet this man has become extremely desperate, struggling to save the planet. To accept the aid from the Tau or wait for reinforcements from the Imperium... Dum dum dum!
I might have over-done it this time hah.. Won a couple, aka 44 Hormagaunts and got them today. Leaving me with a total of 56 Hormagaunts. Think that will be enough for that model haha.. Took a while to put them all together, ran out of glue doing it so had to run off to the store to get more but now they are all built and ready to be mass painted. Hoping for a nice sunny weather so I can do this outside one day.. But recently its just been raining and thundering here. Pity. Still waiting for those Puppetwar models and the Govenor model. Got the green stuff ready for when it arrives. I hope I will do well enough with it!
Spent the whole night panting the armor/scale of my Hormagaunts. Very time consuming but easy to get done when I'm watching something meanwhile. During my break from that I did some brainstorming and made up two sentry guns for my Gue'vesa out of leftover bits. Drone "head", mounted twin-bolters and tripod stand from Heavy Weapons Team. Tadaaa! And today, I got the Governor model and did my first attempt at sculpting with Green Stuff.. I dont have any sculpting tools tho so I used what I had nearby, a toothpick haha. Making fur was easier than I expected and more fun than I thought it would be. What do you think? Should I try and make a cape or keep it as it is?
I'm really happy with how it turned out! His base was a bit small for me to add any big cape onto his back so placed him on another base (he was already clued so couldnt swap.) but it also gave the the look and feel that he stands on a staircase of some sorts. Will try to paint it like stone steps/floor. But yeah.. I'm happy for being my first time
The green stuff work came out looking really really good! Is that your first time using green stuff at all? That is super impressive.
