I absolutely love that Steg. The Skinks are obviously tremendous but the skin, the stone… it really shows you're in command. Keep it up mate!!! Can't wait to see your next models
Hi guys! Long time since I post anything, soon there will be some brand new lizards coming up BUT right now I have a very different projects in hands. 8 days ago I embarked in what was at the moment an impossible challenge, paint 11 miniatures in 12 days for a Deadzone tournament i will be attending IN FRICKING LONDON! This was the Strike Team to paint, and my colour scheme was this one from a miniature I painted as a test quite a while ago: As I've said, 8 days have gone by and this is the state of the porject: - Miniatures fully finished and based: 1 - Miniatures with just final details and base to be done: 2 - Miniatures halfway done: 8 Finished piece (missing base in the picture)
Agree! Really great highlighting. (I rarely do edge highlights myself, I lack patience and precision)
Don't get me started... After this project is done I will probably rest for a couple of weeks. It's being extremely exhausting, specially considering some of this models don't have the best resolution out there, love the design but the production is cheap and it shows (except the Comms drone, and the test model, those are hard plastic and AMAZING)
I feel your paint, I got turned off Space Marines for life after painting 5 of them.... Couldn't face edge highlighting any more power armour. Organic creatures are far more forgiving in that regard... Good job for sticking at it though, you've way more patience than I!
Ugh, I really can't stand Space Marines, they are so dull and repetitive. This guys are more interesting but still a pain to do, at least the Kalyshi (guys and gals in armored swimming suits, lol) have skin and that was nice to do, even considering I had to invent the faces for the most part.
They were if I recall correctly : Base of Kabalite Green Wash with Nuln Oil Edge with Kabalite Green Edge with Sybarite Green
Finally back to the lizards!!!! I will make a post about my Deadzone Strike Team but I just needed to show these guys. Hope you like them!
Talking about the Deadzone tournament in London, it was an absolutely amazing experience. Taking a plane just to play some games It's truly one of those things every gamer should do at least once in their lifetime. Sadly I couldn't finish my Strike Team fully for the event, but I motor at least take them with every part basecoated and washed and all the basing completed. Here they are looking pretty in the display area: Even though they weren't finished, I MANAGED TO WIN BEST PAINTED!!! With an staggering amount of votes also, about twice as much as the second team! I'm working on finishing them but for now here they are the completed models, about half of the total team. I present to you the Cadre of the Silver Flame!!
Winning best painted with only 1/2 fully painted, excellent result, glad you enjoyed the experience in London.
It's been a while, I've been busy with life stuff but painting steadily. Soon there will be BIG news but in the meantime a WIP He will be my Herald on foot, hope you like him!
