I've bought them over time but some I won't ever use, I ran out of Zandri dust last night and thought I had another but no luck but I did find 4 Screaming skull, 3 Leadblecher,
Thats a thing with paints... sometimes you buy a color and better would have picked another... and you end up with tones of green paints that are not really noticeable different to each other... Guess one has to find the perfect mix between different shades of bought paints and selfmixing...
Thank you everyone for all your kind words and thoughtful criticism. I really appreciate the healthy environment of this forum. People are respectful, honest and helpful. That's a rare thing for the internet This contest was the first time I really showed my work to people I don't know and is really giving me the drive to paint more and improve. Although I have to vote for 3 entries, I wanted to mention that all of the participants are inspiring in their own ways. Art (yes model painting) is so much more fun when you can share the experience with others. I am voting @Chicken Lips , @Ritual and @Tokek Special mentions to @Batch and @Christopher I will come back and share some more of my thoughts but I wanted to get my votes in. My Wife and I are in the middle of house hunting for our first home so I am a little short on time. Well done every and of course a big thank you to @Lord-Marcus !!!!!
My votes go to; 1st - @Joshua Horchler Colouring is spot on - also love the model in all its glory (+had to let the lizards take the lead) too be fair it was a toss up between a few others up there, some awesome skin colours going on - just don’t see as many stegs these days and this one was done very well. 2nd - @Chicken Lips Perfect colouring etc - great model, didn’t get first spot mostly through jealousy that yours is better than my own ;P 3rd - @Ritual Awesome...basically. Who doesn’t love a gobbo model and that’s one of the best ones, you did it justice (love the spit) (There are others up there that I was very close to picking) all very very good efforts! Love watching these threads, gets my own ideas bubbling and get to see the quality of models you guys churn out.
@MinhoAbernathy vallejo game color is a great series to get into, and inexpensive too. its around $3 per bottle AND because it is in dropper bottles you don't waste as much. I'd like to sit down with you and help you on the path. if you would like, we could start in a conversation (PM) or i could create a thread to help. all i need to know is how much money you have at the current moment to invest in fixing up your hobby supplies. doesn't have to be much. if you have $1, that is fine. If I can help you, I will.
Thank you for the offer @Lord-Marcus I will definitely take you up on it. I also will look into Vallejo paints. I will most likely have around $100 in a few days.
Been watching for a minute but didn't have a chance to get online until today. Well done everyone, glad to see so many entries come out for the monster mash! There were too many entries to pick from and not enough votes, but I narrowed down my choices to @Kalokagathia 's beautifully scaled red carnosaur, @Joshua Horchler 's phenominal Engine of the Gods, and @Crowsfoot 's uniquely painted carnosaur dedicated to Tlazcotl. It was a very hard choice considering all the great models out there. @Ritual 's gigantic squig monstrosity was a close vote (I am slowly becoming an ork at heart), and I also loved @Chicken Lips 's icy masterpiece. Special note also to @Tokek 's conversion, I like how that one turned out! Really great inspiration there, I wish he had a little bit of blue around his eyes to match your avatar. And of course, despite their incomplete status I thoroughly enjoyed @tom ndege 's unique ladybug bastiladon, and @Christopher 's EXCELLENT carnosaur (loved the green! ) Again, well done to all competitors. This competition finally got me to finish off my carnosaur (thanks @Lord-Marcus!), and if the next one is actually a cavalry competition in a few months I may go back and finally complete one of my last Bretonnian units I still need to finish. As always, thanks for the inspiration!
Your welcome. I'm happy to be a motivator. Yes the next competition will be a cavalry competition starting sometime in july
Good job everyone on those big models! I gave my votes to @Ritual, @Chicken Lips and @Joshua Horchler. Those were some awesome models and great paint jobs! I liked the color change. Hmmmmz... Cavalry. Maybe I'll join. When I have time and feel up to it. Things have been crazy for me lately. So who knows
Did not notice the voting poll, but that does not matter! Very good job guys, all of you who participated (I am bummed that I coudn't enter my carnosaur, but at least it lead me to finish my Troglodon today (baring the base)).
