So guys here is my personal Painting Blog! Wanted to do this for quite a while and now i have time to do so I will start with my Thunderquake Starhost mentioned in my latest Battlereports and will continue to add other stuff as soon as its done, enjoy! My General, the honorful Slann Starmaster, born in the second spawning (very old, like just some hundred years younger than Kroak), he had a name but it was forgotten, lost in the aeons (aka i couldn't made up a nice name for him, suggestions welcome - no not yellow frog!) Yes i painted the Throne itself, even under the Slann, so look at it! I am sorry to say, that i was in a hurry painting him, so almost no nice details but it turned out pretty nice and i am happy with the result, as you can see he is yellow and as you will notice (because i told you know) the yellow runs across all my army to show the allegiance of my Seraphon (Inspired by Dracothion's Tail) I painted the cracks in the Bases (better seen at my Skinks) in a glowing yellow, because in AoS 1.0 they say, Seraphon are all summoned by the Starmaster, coming from cracks of light, blablabla I thought its a nice idea to to use yellow here as well, I have the yellow Slann, which casts yellow magic, and spread it across my army For the Bases i used the Shattered Dominion ones sold by GW, needed to get a bit creative for the Slann (as there are no 50mm Bases) and the Monsters, here you see the result of the Hero and Monster basing kit, glued together on a 50mm Base and cutted afterwards, almost lost some fingers to it, you guys know what it means
After my General i present to you his personal Astrolith Bearer, its a conversion of a Scar-Veteran on foot, with the spear cut off on top, without a shield and the Banner from the Astrolith model, as i don't really like the model of the astrolith bearer itself. He doesn't have a weapon, he is just going to punch its foes
Next one is my Engine of the Gods I had really fun painting it, Nice models with many details This was one of the last models where i decided the color of the Skink and the scales, i went with Brown/Green as it matched the rest of the army, put the yellow stripe in it and tadaa finished I'm not really happy with its horns, as i never really liked to paint horns, but yeah it's finished, maybe i will add some highlights to it in the future, when someone teached me how to paint bones/horns
You should probably thin a few paints a little more, it looks a bit thick in some places, but otherwise nice work!
Next are my Bastiladons I painted two of them, looking almost the same, i tried to highlight the yellow scales on one of them, wasn't quite satisfied so didn't do it on the other one, that way it's easier to differentiate them on the battlefield, also one of them has more armour plates For the Monster Bases i bought an armies on parade shattered dominion plate, and just cut them out with an electrical saw, i later flattened it at the bottom, glued them on a normal monsterbase, and put greenstuff around it to fill the gasps, it was not as smooth as planned, but nobody else got shattered dominion monster bases so nobody can blame me
Okay lets post my Razordons, and quickly go over to the next units, i didn't like how they turned out, i painted them in a real rush, the morning before my game against the chaos guy, maybe they will get a re-color in the future, but they look nice on the battlefield when you don't watch to closely
Next is Skinks I took some photos of 5 of them, they are on some nice 3d printed movement trays, that i found on ebay, i magetized them so movement and teleporting of even a 40s blob is really fast, did the same for my Saurus i painted a total of 90 Skinks so far
Yeah i knew i should have thinned the paints a bit more Unfortunately i rushed myself as i painted the whole army in something like 3 weeks, with way too less time then i wanted to Worst part where the razordons, i just had like 1 or 2 hours for them (shame on me) Most time went in the Skinks and i think those turned out the best Also i am horrified on how many details my phone shows when taking photos with it, they look a lot cleaner and smoother on the field and if i look at them with my eyes also very bad lightning in the photos
Really fantastic work! I like the nice bright colors and all the yellow and purple, especially the yellow! Fantastic to see how good they look as a big group, I think the basing really helps to bring them all together. Well done
Looks great on the Table! Good work! I am so impressed by your speed. There is something to be said for fielding an entirely painted army. Jealous
*taking a deeeep breath and blowing away the dust that settled since the last time i posted here* Remember what i said in my Battleforce thread? There will be new stuff? Let me spoiler you a bit!
Thanks, at the Moment i try to finish my 40k army(half way done) and i should be able to start my big seraphon project sometime around christmas
