Agreed. Battlestar Galactica 2004 is awesome.

Good choice! Moonclan are going to be updated soon - probably won't be for a few months now as GW are so fixated on the rubbish called Adeptus Titanicus :vomit::vomit::vomit: they are soon to be releasing, but it's obvious that they and Darkoath Barbarians are next in line. If the world has any sense of justice Moonclan will be up first because Destruction had their last battletome a couple of years ago while Chaos had their last tome in January (Maggotkin). I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what they do with Night Goblins.

    See above.

I'm glad you did - anything is better than those abominations of Alarielle, who should never have been resurrected in the first place. Awful character. :wtf:

As for armies, I'm thinking of doing Fyreslayers as a stronger Order army and already have Skaven and Moonclan for Chaos, but I refuse to do a death army since it became Vampire Counts only. Tomb Kings Rule OK!

Ah yes. That’s the first one...(ta!) now another mate has said it and I overheard two frequenters of the gw shop mentioning it too. Anything concrete?

So I have been on a buying frenzy. I got a bundle off eBay, fairly roughly painted(top pic is from eBay) so I’ve sprayed mechanicus grey, put biel tan straight on that then a dry brush of skarsnik. These are grunts so not putting lots of time in. 1 hour to do 10 is my limit. I’m happy with the results. Going to use shades for the bodies (nuln agrax). Then do the weapons in metallics. Then figure out a basing scheme for full army.

Wow, that's serious speed painting! I am curious how those will look, I cannot even imagine what is possible to do in just an hour, except a rough basecoat and one layer of shade maybe.

Sorry...1 hour do the skin on 10. I think it actually only took 25 mins to put the shade on then leave to dry and brush the skarsnik on liberally which took about 15 mins. (I listened to an album while doing so that’s where I’m getting my timings from) I’m rubbish at layering so this is a good compromise I think. They’re counters for a game to me not exhibition pieces.

    The skin looks fine.
I use the same technique for my Skinks and Saurus. Just a blue basecoat, blue shade, and then a quick drybrush. Definitely good enough for tabletop quality.

I can layer, blend etc but rarely use those techniques on core troops, base, shade, drybrush, done

As you say they are gaming pieces not display models, saying that I did get a display case on Sunday and it's full :D

Mhm, I spent 36 hours on my salamander model at least xD and I brought it into battle and it died within the first few minutes, I also spend like 5 hours on a skink D:, ~Great models all around btw, good job on chewing through those saurus warriors and the slann is looking great

Nice looking Slann! I approve of the green :D

Oh? Would be curious to see your bolt action army if you have one of those painted too!

Yeah, I’ve only got one side blitzkrieg germans (about 700 0r 800 points worth)some infantry, a mortar and a half track. Have been using bargain store toy soldiers as British or Americans for the past few months. (Not decided what side to go for yet so these have done for now) Not painted many yet although I’ve got my scheme worked out. Want to keep it to a small skirmish game rather than hordes of guys. Great game. The dice mechanic is superb.
