It's not often that I get to post pictures of a finished project, but at (very) long last it is finally complete. There are a few things that I might have changed here and there (practice makes perfect I suppose), but in the end I am exceptionally pleased with it. Without further ado, I present my house terrain project:

All this wait, for a measly cottage?!? :p

I'm obviously joking, it's very nice and the details are wonderful, I love the mushrooms and the trunks. ;)

It looks great? Did you use aquarium rocks and mortar? Also, is that shag carpet for the thatching? Beautiful work on the wood component!

A Rogue One compliment... high praise indeed! :D
    Thank you kindly.

I admittedly work slow, but I am happy that you like it! :) One single section delayed the project for ages. No matter what I just couldn't find an acceptable solution.

As for the size of the piece, the aim was to create a small house that could be found on its own outside of a township. Maybe on a small farm. Something that a family/person would have built on their own.

In actuality, the house was built as a prototype for a larger two story building I have planned. However, as the project progressed, I liked it more and more so I tried to put extra care into the small details.

    Thanks.

I got the rocks at the beach, I have a container full of them. The mortar is a mix of sand (also from the beach) and pva glue.

The thatch roof was made of synthetic fur. I did a tutorial on it a while back:

Thank you. :) Essentially they are real... just on a smaller scale. Made from twigs/branches found in the backyard!
