The Christmas Battleforce brought me back to Lustria. In the last few months, AoS was not my favorite part of the hobby, in fact i didn't touch my lizards only once in the last 3 months and that was without fun. I focussed on painting my 40k Space Wolves and taking my first steps into the 40k universe, which was fun - but it wasn't my lizards. Then i saw the battleforce Well here i am, i built (and painted) almost 7000 points, including 100 Skinks and Saurus Warriors and i thought i had enough of them Oh Boy was i wrong! Just wanted to share my struggle - the plan is already made, i need 2 of those boxes and start my lizards over again (as i quite improved my painting techniques i guess the old lizards will get some decoloring baths) Expect painting, cursing, more painting, more cursing and also some nice battlereports from me in the near future. (Talking about new year, want to finish my 2k Space wolves first) And an official warning to Games Workshop: With the 2 Boxes im on about 150 Skinks, if you produce new Skink models, that look better then now. I will find you. And i will throw 150 Skinks at you. With Force!
The box is awesome, and if I hadn't bought Skinks, Rippers, and a Basti not long ago I would definitely get one myself.

This battleforce is quite a temptation, but I might be able to resist. I already have 80 skinks, a starpriest, a new carno, an old carno, a troglodon and 6 rippers. I will buy another basti and and a set of ripeprs in the near future if I find something around 30 € (ebay, wayland etc) This is a true deal however and I highly recommend it to anyone starting a Seraphon army.
Well, if you consider GW standard price for somebody wanting rippers and something else from the box (be it skinks, basti or whatever) it could make sense. I was also thinking about buying one of the other factions, but FORTUNATELY I don't like them except for DoK maybe. Guess I'll wait for the new Moonclan stuff release!
i love this box, i have ordered one too, I am still missing Ripperdactyl Riders and a Skink Starpriest which I will get with the box and a second Bastiladon is never wrong
I have over 100 skinks, have recently bought 6 rippers. Still getting one of these boxes! Can never have enough skinks! and It would be nice to have two bastiladons!
Yeah I was skeptical on getting the box since I already have 74 skink (Can never have enough), 2 basti, and 6 rippers... But now that I know you can summon rippers turn 1 with an EoTG to get more blot toads (I run all 6 from the start), I was sold! Plus another batilidon for different build options. Kit bash the trog into both a carno and a trog. Such value. Only thing I don't need from the box is the starpriest. edit: anybody know a good way to kit bash some extra skinks. the box comes with 24, so trying to get a few extra to reach an even number. will need 4 more when my box gets to me for a even 100.
There are a few things you can do. Depending on the version of the Stegadon you have you can spare two of the crew. If you have spare Handlers from the Razordon or Salamander kit you can use them on the Stegadon and get two Skinks from the Steggy kit that way. Those crew Skinks are a tiny bit smaller than regular Skinks, but it is hardly noticeable. Snap off the tips of their javelins to convert them to boltspitters. The other way could be this: Buy another Skink box (yeah I know ) and do the following: - convert a few of them to Chameleon Skinks if you need some - use the others to fill up your units. Converting spare Handlers to regular Skinks is... probably possible but I haven't done it yet. And then of course you could sculpt/cast them yourself but if you were able to do that you probably wouldn't be asking, so yeah, out of scope I guess.

They used "The Trap is Sprung" from the Shadowstrike Starhost as the new battalion. Reroll 1s to hit / wound on a target that the Starpriest can see. No point cost on it, and I believe it was once per battle. Not 100% sure on that though, and I don't have it close by to check atm.
