Decided to try and light up my (third) bastiladon! It is turning out pretty cool so far. Here is a quick video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpRiYpB3YSU Supplies: Chip LED lights from: https://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/products/chip-light-kit Crystals from Hobby Lobby - https://www.hobbylobby.com/Floral-Wedding/Containers-Fillers/Fillers/Clear-Crystal-Filler/p/80803759
It's actually bluey grey, start with a base of Fenrisian grey, wash with Drakenhoff nightshade then highlight with Ulthuan grey, to highlight just drybrush but apply more on the knees and ankles.
Fun to Paint, the shell changes from gold to Burgundy depending on what angle you look at it, used nail polish.
I was thinking for my next Bastiladon, I would do the solar engine with this paint: Not sure yet as there are so many options https://www.ilnp.com/ultra-chrome-nail-polish.html
That would be more a "night engine" But you know? Put some shiny stars on it and you'll have a perfect seraphon's stuff
I was thinking about using such a color when I paint Alarielle (for my wife's army). It could look awesome on her beetle.
I’m trying to get the colour scheme similar to the Bastiladon on the box. Any good nail polishes/citadel paints for that?
