Looks very nice, a lot of High Elf over him from the old world, I wish you success and good fortune in selling him
Well, needed a break from painting Skinks for my Horde and decided to tackle something that has been on my bucket lists for 20 years. THE AMAZING GREEN KNIGHT This is for sure the most difficult thing I've tried to do and i'm actually very happy with how it's going. Hope you like him!
Wow, brilliant work with the variations of green on the steed! Can’t wait to see him once the whole model is finished
Freehand was done in two painting sessions, so about 3-4 hours. The whole cloth was done in one, extremely fast as it's all washes over Ulthuan Grey and then Re-aply Ulthuan again. The rest was done sporadically. I'm starting the rider now.
I promise you guys I'm not dead. I'm sadly too busy to be able to be as active as I would like. Last two months have been spent painting this mono colour fellah. I really hope you like him! I will be attending a huge event on March so I will be sinishing my Lizardmen army very soon! Keep tuned for more news soon!
Very nice, even thought he is monotone you have used the greens well, easy to distinguish each section, the scroll work is good, it looks like you applied green glazes over a white canvas? The green eye of the horse is a good touch
Thanks ! Yeah the "white" cloth was done exactly Luke that. I undercoated with Ulthuan Grey and the green shading was done first with an overall Glaze of Waywatcher Green and then successive applications of Biel-Tan Green diluted with Lahmian medium, over and over again to create the shadows slowly. Then back to Ulthuan to redefine the highlights and some extra Glazing of Waywatcher here and there to up the vibrancy.
A lot of people ask me how I paint the skin of my Skinks so I decided to make a small tutorial. Let's go!: Undercoat with a white spray, I use Corax White from GW [/url] Basecoat with the amazing Baharroth Blue (love it) Wash with a 3:1 mix of Lahmian Medium and Temple Guard Blue Wash with a 2:1 mix of Lahmian Medium and Coelia Greenshade Wash the scales with a 3:1 mix of Lahmian Medium and Kantor Blue First Highlight on the skin is Baharroth Blue Second Highlight is pure Ulthuan Grey, applied as a heavy Glaze, no mixing whatsoever. Except for the tail all is done with a single brushstroke for each Highlight, tail has two to emphasise it. Hope that it's helpful! Thanks for reading!
