AoS New book what would you like

    So with our new book supposedly on its way what would you like to see. Im not just talking warscroll changes like the other thread.

    If its true we are getting new build options like flesh eaters had , I would love to see the master of the skys become a hero again. Perhaps his warscroll includes 2 body guards ans he unlocks rippers and terradons as battle line if he the general.
    I have some more but lets see what others come up with

    Prayer and spell lore lists
    Lore that makes us tangible beings again. or at least a sizable portion of lore that progresses our story past the exodus of the world that was.

    Only being able to ally with the Stormcast is like being stuck partnering with the annoying-ass goody-two-shoes in class because nobody else wanted to go with him and you were too slow finding another partner.

    I want to ally with whoever has the old Empire artillery - I'll have an army of dinosaurs backed by gatling guns.

    What would *I* like? Skink Horned One Riders, some new (or remade) special characters, Skink Alphas on FOOT to help back up skink infantry, and - this last one is important - MORE DINOSAURS!!!

    Ankylosaurus Chariot!!! Kind of turtle-ish dinosaur with Skinks riding on its back like it is a living chariot! :D

    Something with a brachiosaurus? Maybe a BIGGER Stegadon?

    Um...

    More "artillery" dinosaurs? Maybe they could get something to prod into combat like a baby stegadon who wants to charge things with its horns? Or, or something that spits poison!

    Ooo, or packs of pissed off velocioraptors!

    I don’t wish to sound patronising, and I’m sure you’re already aware of these and had something different in mind, but I feel like GW have already done their own interpretations of a lot of your ideas:

    Personally I’d like a spell lore, or something else that marks the Slann out as having their rightful place of the most badass sorcerers in the game. In terms of fluff, real Seraphon would be nice, but I don’t want them to get rid of the concept of ‘remembering into existence’ entirely. Maybe a mix between the two.

    Some theropod in between cold ones and Carnosaurs, kind of like monstrous cavalry from 8th.

    Slann being able to heal with summoning points.

    Kroq-Gar.

    Slann on Stegadon, which could lend itself nicely to a new Stegadon model with the option for building a Slann on top, and also giving a new slann model to give some variety.

    I think we are due some sort of long necked dinosaur, it's pretty much the only kind of most popular dinosaur species we don't have. Don't know what it would actually do though.

    I would be satisifed with other dinosaurs like a Parasaurolophus, Stegosaurus or Pachycephalosaurus.

    Don't know about a lore, but more spells for Slann would be nice.

    hmm... having thought it over, you're right. We really don't need light cavalry, skins are almost as fast anyway. While a new artillery lizard would be nice, we don't really need one. Hmm. Likewise, while a chariot dino would rock, the carnosaur does a better job. ... Well, I'd still like some kind of mega sized howdah on the back of a therapod.

    I think what is most severely missing is spells.
    Right now summoning is basically a no brainer and Skinks have one spell they can cast that isn't an endless spell.

    And then...well... artillery would be nice, but they could do it by buffing the Stegadon. Just increase the cost for a bow Stegadon by 50 or so and let it shoot like a Celestar Ballista.

    Buffing Skink heroes (or introducing new ones) would be nice, to get away from the Slann as pretty much the only option as general.

    Something to make Saurus more viable would be nice, such as making them more sturdy.

    Lore! And more Lore!

    I really want endless spells for the dinos and spawning pools! that leak would have been so cool if it was true. I remember someone was talking about endless spells ideas and they mentioned some form of celestial dino spirit. that would be pretty cool. In terms of models, I want some form of heavy infantry or for guard to go up to 2 wounds.

    I would prefer some kind MW save like the bastiladon has. I mean the guard can already get a rerolling 2+ save. An extra wound may make them too expensive

    Carnivorous plants. Lots of them, giant man eating Venus-man traps and pitcher plants that could swallow a horse. Or maybe that golden dew plant where it could get all but the strongest of beasts trapped and digested :smuggrin:

    In general:
    - Spell lore, preferably 1 for skinks and 1 for slann
    - Prayers
    - Summoning used to heal/reinforce existing troops
    - Endless spells
    - Terrain
    - More synergy abilities like the Kroxigor have with skinks between our various types of creatures.
    - Something to counter mortal wounds
    - Something to counter heavy armor
    - New models, most of our big stuff and heroes only has 1 pose, some variation would be nice
    - General rebalancing of everything that's out of date
    - More characters
    - Summoning to not rely entirely on the slann sitting in the back generating points. For example Tzeentch's mechanic of cast spells to gain points is vastly more engaging and rewarding than simply saying "and now my slann generates 12 points and that's all he does this hero phase"


    Skinks:
    - Skink heroes with (sensible) command abilities
    - Skink heroes that do something beyond the 1 supportive spell/ability. Make em halfway capable in the frontline, or give em enough ranged firepower that they can at least achieve something from the backline. Just make it so I actually do something with em outside the 1 ability in the hero phase.
    - Skink battleline troops that aren't fodder. No preference if they're mounted or not.
    - Chameleons to be better either as snipers or for sustained firesupport, to get more than 1 wound (why does an "elite" troop have 1 wound..) and to get some minor protection against mortal wounds

    Saurus:
    - Warriors to be worth something without being a horde
    - Guard to have at least 2 wounds and mortal wound protection. Also their sworn guardians rule could be made more interesting.to achieve that
    - Heavy 3-man cavalry like gore-grunta's or dracoth cavalry as an elite version of knights
    - Saurus heroes that give more support than 1 command ability, put in some more aura's like an oldblood's "wrath of the seraphon". Just supportive abilities that don't require command points.
    - (some) Saurus command abilities to also affect skink based units.

    Dinosaurs:
    - "Small" dinosaurs to spam that aren't subject to the behemoth restrictions. I wanne play with loads of giant dinosaurs, not with 1 or 2 in my entire army.
    - More variants for a skink hunting pack
    - A big flyer
    - Some love for kroxigor

    Slann:
    - Some alternate versions of a slann (e.g. one on a stegadon, or on a special palaquin) that serve different purposes.
    - Like the skinks, give Slann something to do beyond sitting in the backline and using his 1 ability in the hero phase (in his case generating summoning points...)
    - Some reason not to use all his spells on summoning. Preferably by making his points less relevant (for example, by introducing more sources of summoning points) and by giving him acces to more powerfull spells. Not just one or the other.

    That enough things for a new battletome? :p

    That’s enough, more than enough XD.
    Your complaints kinda reflect a general issue with the lack of love we received from GW. Provided we still are pretty powerful, just not as powerful as we used to be.

    I stil think we need carnivorous plants as terrain, but thats just me :D

    I’m sure you’d prefer allying with whoever has Dwarf artillery. More reliable than the rubbish the Empire messes around with, and the Organ Gun fires a good lot of shots, even in AoS :oldman:
