Hey guys, I am relatively new to painting and have only been doing it for around 5 months/less. I just decided Id like to share some of my work with everyone here since it is such a great community. If you like it leave a thumbs up, if you don't then tell me how I can improve. enjoy!
I agree with @Aginor, real good work on the basing. Awesome terrain bits aswell. Nice colorscheme, great contrast on the EoG! Dig the freehand scale on the Bastilodon. Keep up the good work Gr, Imrahil
Thanks! I Had to do several attempts on that free hand scale, I had the idea of adding itza symbols to all my model's which means each skink takes 10 mins longer. But I think it is worth the time.
Finished the 5th skinks base: all 5 skinks together: 5th skinks base: 4th skink ( Which I did yesterday, this might have to be one of my favs due to the skull)
Alrighty, I have my first 5 finished. Sorry about the photo spam guys but I wanted to show each one off. I most likely won't put photos of these guys up until I have 20 or so done. I'm going to Start the "Leader" of my whole skink cohort. 5 down 40 to go :0 [
The skink leading the cohort needs to stand out a bit from the other 44 skinks so I'm going to give him some special features- Might have this done by tomorrow night.
To be brutally honest I think I might be addicted to painting, I feel like I should be painting when I'm doing other stuff like going for a walk or watching a film with my family... Not that its bad xD but I haven't had time to play on total war Warhammer recently
Just a quick update, this is a rough photo of what my skink chief should look like, so far I think the base is coming out good but I'm not sure about the top of the skull
Before I come offline for a bit I just wanted to say that I put in quite a big order of modeling stuff a few days ago, it includes: 15 jungle themed bases: and 5 ruin themed bases: ( I will probs still add some features to them but it does cut quite a bit of the workload off all my skinks but only by a little since I still need to paint them) along with some mushrooms :O ( they will look nice as small features for my swamp bases) I also grabbed some flocking stuff to add some more variation to my skink bases finally, I got some AK interactive swamp water green (arrived today! ) this means I can make some more water themed ones rather than the dry land ones.
Great stuff all around. I always love seeing people puting a lot of effort into their bases and yours are exceptional. If I might be so bold as to give a small piece of criticism, I feel you could probably thin your paints a tad. Especially on the stegadon model some of the details are getting a little lost. Just a dab more water in your paints can make a world of difference. Your more recent posts are a step in the right direction. Keep it up, I look forward to seeing more from you.
