Think of an airbrush as a time machine, I'll give you an example.

Prime and base coat a model by brush takes around 1.5hrs with drying time, with the airbrush it takes around 40mins, the finish is thinner so detail is crisp.

I primed 20 models in under an hour with the airbrush, that would take hours with a brush, admittedly you can spray primer them but it's thicker paint.

When your doing colour transitions they blend easily with the airbrush, it takes minutes instead of hours.

Buy the best compressor you can afford as this is the part you want to last for years.

How much do you reckon a good, stable set of equipment costs, on average?

That really depends on you, I spent around £500 on compressor and airbrush, I use Iwata atm but for priming a cheap £20 airbrush will do the job.

All three are beautiful! The middle one is my favorite.

The basing is a bit bland. You could tell more of a story with their environment. Some of thework you have done with green stuff molds in the past would look very nice for these skinks bases.

All expertly done, the third is my favourite, looks grubby and war torn.
Only thing that they need are based. :)

All three are great. My favourite is the first one, just barely edging out the second one.

I could field all three without an issue (other than it would put my other skinks to shame) ;)

I like number 1 best, and the third one second. Though they all look awesome!

Second one by a mile you know it already it has the golden ingredient that is needed, contrast.

I can see that you have kept the bases monotone to focus the model but if you did the base on Skink 3 bright green that would be amazing but 2 is a clear winner.

All are expertly done, as always.

All look great. But the first and the last would be my choice... the one in the middle looks great, too, but I would like a fourth option with red or purple head and claws... just to see it.;)

Umm... they all look awesome! It's hard to pick a favorite b/c there's something I really like about each. I guess the first one (with the teal skin) is my top pick. I don't know if that's boring b/c it's the standard seraphon scheme, but it's such a lovely color. And that bright white crest really pops. I can't remember, but do you use any "standard" GW methods or paints. If so would you be willing to share the steps or colors used.

They’re are all incredible, but if I had to pick one, I’d probably say the first one

For me it is a tight race between 1 and 3.
I am a sucker for classic blue though, so 1 it is.

The blue on the first one is killer.
I would go in that direction, trying to add contrast either in values (go darker on the scales for example, or black face etc etc) or in colours (warm ochre somewhere, or red crest and midline scales).
    Everything looks terrific, congratulations!

I like all of them too, but if I have to choose I would go with the first, and of not that, then the third.

Improvements: ... um.... The basing maybe, but that does not have much to do with the model's paintjob. Actually the basing is not bad I don't think, it could just use a bit of variety, but for a test model I guess it's fine to leave the bases the same to emphasize the models more.

All three are awsome. 2nd and 3rd are both my favourite. 2nd is colourful and eye-catching, while 3rd is dark and war-torn (like Deed525) said.

All three are painted exceptionally! in terms of colorscheme i prefer the first one.

    Great work, keep them coming!
