Apart of me wonders if they really did survive. The mantis had acid in it's face. The beetle had a giant clawing at it's back. They could both have sustained minor but permanent injuries that could slow them down for ever and ultimately lead to their death. And now for something completely different. Two of my fundamental movie guidelines are in conflict. First, I don't want to watch a live action remake of a Disney animated film. The consensus is generally that they are not worth it and don't really add anything. On the other hand, I am a big fan of Tim Burton's work and per usual he attracted some grey haired top tier actors to help him though not Johnny Depp. I guess it depends how bored I get. I'm curious about the padding. The original Dumbo only had a 64 minute run time. The remake will be 112 minutes.
That's another issue. Aladdin was a very good movie and was made recently. Dumbo was not a very good movie. At the very least, Dumbo is over 70 years old and has not aged well. Robocop (1987) was very good. Robocop (2014) was very bad. Predator (1987) was very good and The Predator (2018) was not so good. Judge Dredd (1995) was a very bad movie that insulted the source material. Dredd (2012) was an excellent movie that glorified the source material. The lesson? Remake bad or average movies. Don't remake great movies.
That's a very good example. First they radically remade the dated 1930s Mummy movie in the nineties into an excellent though not very deep action movie in the 1990s. Then came the Darkverse Mummy in the 2010s.
There are so many better games. Once a kid turns 12, it's child abuse to play Monopoly. I made fun of my friend for going through a goth phase in high school, yet I am a big fan of Tim Burton. And my favorite Pandora stations use Goth Metal bands as the seeds. Perhaps I should accept what I am.
