Well, I've been working hard on my new army. 12 days if work for each knight? Sounds about right Hope you like him! Stay tuned because I might have something very special soon!
New knight, new colours to experiment, I'm calling the green a SUCCES. If everything goes well i will have something tasty for you soon!
Great work! I'm curious do you use two brush blending for these? Also, have you ever tried airbrushing or do you prefer the brush work?
I use actually what you would call two brush blending but just with one brush because I'm very clumsy and I always end up mistaking the brushes. My main technique for the gradients is a mix of heavy glazing and feathering, I apply a heavy glaze following the direction of the highlight and quickly rinse the brush and go back to feather and blend the transition. If I need to I smooth it out even further with a glaze of the previous colour. Regarding airbrushes, I had and used one when I dipped my toe into airplane models but I never liked it. I really enjoy working with a brush, it's something that makes me happy.
That's awesome. I was doing the same, I could never pull off the one brush in my mouth or whatever, also too clumsy. I've really enjoyed my airbrush so far and found that it helps with my speed. I'm a slow painter and I'm trying to play more actual AoS so it's been a big plus, but like you said, blending, feathering and glazing with a brush is very fun process, just time consuming .
Made a thing!!! Here you can see how I paint. Hope you guys like it. A lot of effort and time went into this, if you like it I will make more. Already have a better camera placement so I can record and you know, be comfortable .
Second instalment of my painting tutorials is up and running! As always thanks for the support and encouragement !
Love your work, always watching for your tips n tricks (taken many on board) so thanks keep them coming
Soon... Also I just couldn't resist.. You know Skinks just wanna have fun! I should really be finishing my Red and Green Knight...
Nice work again! I think you do one thing that I struggle with and that is using very dark tones to keeep the contrast. I can blend and layer and highlight but I feel like I sometimes struggle to balance my contrast. Well done!
