Hey all, new to the site and pretty new to the hobby and painting in general. Worked on some soul wars stormcasts but really fell in love with the design and lore of the Seraphon. I've got some lofty ambitions in the hobby, excited to get to work. Have a few unique ideas that I hope to document here, for example, I work in the jewelery industry so I'm excited to try to incorperate some natural gemstones into my designs. Don't have a ton to show as of now, mainly just want to keep this record for myself and if any others want to offer suggestions or encouragement I would be happy to hear it. Cozamalocoatl is Nauhatl for "Rainbow Serpent." I'm not sure how close High Saurian language relates to it, or if we have a translation index of some kind, if there is a better name let me know!
Thanks all for your support and encouragement, this community is really neat! Able to put in a few hours of work last night to get the rest of my foot soldiers skintone done, just a quick update
One of the ideas I had looking at some of the concept art for the weapons of the Seraphon was using a holo nail polish for the obsidian to get the Galaxy swirl and the glassy sheen. I'm pretty happy with it!
Alright, got the foot infantry done from the start collecting box. Really happy with the Galaxy obsidian weapons and some other little details. Learned a lot about painting the scales. Pics are when final wash was still a bit wet and I forgot to paint the sides of the bases black, but ignore that. Now going to try the troglodon!
Thanks everyone for the compliments! Started working on the troglodon today, really liking the color scheme. Gotta figure out what color pallet to use for the skinks of the cozamaloquatl. Thinking a darker blue to compliment the purple saurus, or maybe going poison dart frog red and orange kinda like the shields I made earlier.
Nice colors, Love the yellow line to Split the greens. Both blue and Red are great options. For the rider of the troglodon i think Red might contrast More. Gr, Imrahil
Update, finished up the troglodon! Pretty darn happy with the orange skinks too, I think when I get a squad of them they with will look great on a table. Might decide to brighten the yellow line on the big guy too, not sure.
looks good Looks even better with natural or white light (the whole looks a bit more yellow now ) Gr, Imrahil
