He might be right. That's an Oakeshott 12 type sword if I am not mistaken. Very common in that century.

Realism versus the Rule of Cool is a constant struggle when writing or presenting fantasy. I'm working on a homebrew RPG system and this conflict comes up over and over. At this point I'm mulling over how difficult to make it to fight multiple less skill opponents. In real life, I have heard stories of a professional boxer ambushed and severely beaten by five average people but the Rule of Cool states that a single skilled martial artist can triumph over hordes of mooks.

I hear or read generally good things about D&D 5th edition but I'm kind of through giving Wizards of the Coast my money. I spent enough of it on 2nd ed and 3.5 stuff.

My gaming group started with laughable crude homemade RPGs, moved to 2nd to ed D&D, then to West End Star Wars, then to White Wolf Old World of Darkness than 3.5 D&D and back to Old World of Darkness. Thow in an oddball relapse to 2nd ed once or twice that didn't last long. Also add a few moderately crude knockoffs from West End games Star Wars d6 system. I ran a few adventure games in Ancient Greece when I was on a brief mythology binge and a friend tried a D&D D6 hybrid in college.

Now I worked on a D&D/White Wolf hybrid out of boredom just for theory and I got so far along, my friends asked "Why don't we try it". It is of course to quote a non biased source* "it is the greatest game system that ever was or ever will be*" but I cannot market it because because both White Wolf and Hasbro would sue me to oblivion.

*See the Scalenex Game Review, issue 17.

Actually, if Pathfinder can avoid being sued for essentially copying 3.5, I should be fine. I just have to eliminate the small number of monsters that are copyrighted by Wizards of the Coast and bought Hasbro, but I don't think anyone got rich writing Pathfinder books.

I don't get it. Please explain

Turns out, everyone else in the rest of the universe speaks Retro-Romansh. When we make contact with the outside universe, this Swiss minority will rise to power on Earth.

This should be posted on the fluff forum.

Tempting, very tempting. But the last season while still entertaining is coming across as the weakest one in my personal opinion. I want a toliet accessory that will still be culturally relevant in ten years!

Also while I'll box up a very small amount of leftovers at a restaurant.

I guess I forgot about it because I was drinking wine and not tequila that day. I was making my favorite French Onion soup (which uses a small amount of wine) and eagerly watching Game of Thrones (which required the rest of the bottle's content).
