Nice job, sometimes I think I was really too lazy with mine. I considered adding red but never did it.
Haha ditto I have also been terribly lazy with my base troops ;D mostly base-wash-dry brush lol. Nice work @Imrahil hope to see them finished soon
Honestly I think thats a fair appraoch to take with troops. The more you're into playing the game the more shortcuts you can safely take on any sort of massed troops. Spend your time and effort on the characters and center piece monsters.
Hereby an update on the Saurus Warriors WIP: Saurus Warriors At first an overview of the unit in different stages of painting. At the far left the one model that is the nearest to completion(90%, only to do: the shaft of the spear, leather stripe at the inside of the shield and basing). Then in the middle the second stage (82%, to do on top of the first stage: edge highlighting the shields and spear-tips, eyes, teeth, nails, spikes and feathers). At the far right the stage with the most work to be done(80%, to do on top of the rest: first highlight of all shields, spear-tips and banner emblem) Below the one model in the at the far left in detail: let me know what you think Gr, Imrahil
Thanks i hope so too. Basing will be like the Scar-Vet on Cold one, Dryad Bark/Gorthor Brown with grass and plants. Gr, Imrahil
The red with orange highlights always reminds me of ripe fruit., looks nice against the blues. Nice and striking good job .
Thanks all, I really like how the turned out. I was afraid i would mess it up along the way, but enough coffee did keep my hands steady throughout it all Just gave the bases of 5 of them an highlight, now i need to stick some greens on there and start the other 5 bases. I think and hope this will be the last month i'm working on these guys After this i will start on magnetizing my Saurus Knight army, 15 pieces Question(for those who use magnates): Do you, (and if yes) how do you, distinguish your riders to fit the correct mount? A. Do you mark the rider and the mount? B. Do you fit the magnates 'exactly' at the same spot on all the mounts and all the riders? C. Else, I .... D. None of the above, I hate Saurus Knights Please let me know Gr, Imrahil
Ok, this might be shocking for some, as I tend to magnetize my models a lot, but I actually haven't magnetized my Knights. During painting I marked them so I would see which rider belongs to which mount, but then I just glued them on. I don't see a real reason to magnetize them.
Just now finnished the Warrior unit. Waiting for the glue to dry WIP: Saurus Warriors Sometime next week i'll make some proper pictures Gr, Imrahil
