Being from Germany I never had the chance to watch a game in real life, but this year I started watching it because I like complex sets of rules so one of my American friends said "you should try watching baseball then!" So I fired up some MLB streams when the season started and watched a bit. The rules are intriguing, but I admit that the sport can surely be a tad boring. Especially compared to Football and Ice Hockey, but also compared to other sports like American Football (which I like most).
Some of my fondest memories from my childhood involving playing baseball with my dad and playing baseball with my friends but I find baseball quite boring to watch. One of my friends explained to me that watching baseball is not about the baseball itself. It's an excuse to hang out outside on a nice day casually talking to friends and family and periodically watching the baseball when it becomes interesting. Much like watching live golf but with less alchohol consumption (the alchohol vendors literally follow the spectators).
I like "watching" baseball while painting. Because most of the time you don't have to actually watch. If something exciting happens the commentators will tell you, and there will be a slow motion replay anyway.
