Hey guys new to AOS and have joined a local event which has us building up a list until we hit 1500 points. Starting at 500 and increasing by 250 points every month. Got a few ideas on what I want to go with so I thought I could get some feedback on each list I have aswell as spells as not sure what the new spell lore ones are yet. 500 points 260 Slann Star master 70 skinks with boltspiters 80 knights with Lances 90 warriors with spears Thoughts here was by turn 2 can summon a trog or EoTG skinks as a wrap on the Slann and warriors and knights move out for a bit of aggression. 750 260 Slann 160 Astrolith bearer 140 2x10 skinks 140 Trogilodon 40 Baldwin's vortex Some more serious summoning here get a carno out turn 2 and potential to resummon trog if he dies early or a EotG. Skinks as bubble wrap and trog for turn 1 distraction. 1000 260 Slann 160 Astrolith bearer 80 skink starpriest 140 2x10 skinks 140 3 ripperdactyls 180 shadowstrike starhost 40 Baldwin's vortex Same as above for summoning however not sure on the shadowstrike heard mixed things when only small amount of rippers. 1250 260 Slann 160 Astrolith bearer 80 skink starpriest 140 2x10 skinks 90 10 warriors 280 6 x ripperdactyls 180 shadowstrike starhost 40 Baldwin's vortex Again much the same for summoning added in some more rippers and warriors to fill out points 1500 260 Slann 160 Astrolith bearer 80 skink starpriest 140 2x10 skinks 330 40 warriors 280 6 x ripperdactyls 180 shadowstrike starhost 40 Baldwin's vortex 30 Ravenaks gnashing jaws Same for summoning but added in a full 40 warriors not to sure about this but seemed good with there points drop. I am worried about mass mw spells and have seen more than half of a squad of 40 get taken out with one spell. Also added in the jaws as I had the spare 30 points. Anyways let me know what you think
Welcome to Lustria. Meteoric Convocation will probably be your best spell option for low point matches. At higher point matched you might want Stellar Tempest if there are multiple players running large units of tropes. I would start adding Rippderactyls are early as possible. Even at 500 points. They are some of our few damaging units.
I hate re-writing other players concepts, we should each play the way we want to, so ill only recommend modifications to your ideas. 500 switch the warriors to clubs. rule of thumb for warriors is 20 or less go clubs, 30 or more go spears. 750, drop the trog for ripperdactlys. they will have better mobility and punch, and are easier to replace with summoning than the trog is (12 points vs 18). additionally they cost the same points so no oter adjustments need to be made. additionally if you summon rippers in battle, the new rippers can use the old ones toad.... but if you don't have rippers at the start you wont have a toad and that cuts their output to 1/3 potential. PS: BALDWINS VORTEX! lmao I love the typo, it sounds like either a really bad movie or an awesome sharknado rip off with all the Baldwin brothers acting in it 1000 this list is fine for what you want to do. rippers in 3's are less effective... but your opponent will be fielding 1000 point armies as well. in a 2k list I wouldn't field less than 6 in a unit unless I had to. 1250 you have 1230/1250 listed. if you drop the warriors and go with a Scar veteran on cold one, you will have a harder hitting model that can make use of the star priests staff ability, and it will only leave you with ten points unused. 1500 warriors outside of support system are lacking. one good sized horde is not a bad idea, but you would get more use out of 2 units of 10 knights each. its 10 points less, you would get the same number of wounds; more, better attacks; and you could alternate charges and fall backs on a opponents unit you needed to keep tar pitted while still incurring the chance for mortal wounds from the lances. This would leave you 10 points to work with if you wanted to drop ravenaks and go with a spell that had a cost up to 40. because at 1500 points you will start seeing monsters and strong alpha strikes, you may want to start moving from the shadowstrike to a thunderquake build. it is more forgiving for newer players.
Hahaha totally missed that tyoo. Thanks heaps for the help will switch out to trog for rippers in the 750. Don't think I can add them in the 500 points list as I wanted to keep the Slann in there and can't really take out the others as need the battle line. For the 1000 is it work just dropping the the shhadowstike and add more rippers/ do something else with the 180 points? For the 1250 points had the warriors in there only for the battle line requirement. This is my try at a thunderquake for the 1500 still wanted to keep the summoning theme in there so I went with the cheaper options. 260 Slann 160 Astrolith bearer 140 2x10 skinks 80 10 knights 120 3x razordons 140 Trogilodon 400 2x stego 40 skink handler 120 thunderquake starhost 40 Baldwin's vortex
the shadow strike is one of the games strongest 1000 point lists, you are better off with it in. even if your version is a little off from the usual one. (again I don't like to tell people how to play, but im willing to help adjuist their lists within the confines of their concepts) 1250 the skinks meet your battle line requirements you don't need the warriors for that 1500 that list looks fine. the double stegos are the new hotness with changes to LOSAT and their price reduction.
