Helas I miss the damage in my Seraphon army, I win the games only about the mission objectives but my opponents kills almost always my entire army, my army is missing the damage to kill the 30 modells blocks or his monster with 14 wounds. last time I played (seraphon against slaanesh) and I played 2x 40's Saurus Warriors 1x 10 Saurus Warriors , Saurus Sunblood, Skink Starpriest, Slann Starmaster and the battalion Sunclaw Starhost , but I had no chance in close combat, my opponent killed my two blocks of 40 Saurus Warriors with his demons in just one round
So first off, your idea of a buffed up sunclaw and the support you used was correct. A buffed up sunclaw starhost with a max block of saurus warriors is formidable, especially with buffs. However I do think you are missing out on a few things here that very critical, especially what your opponent was playing, what artifacts were used, as well as more info on the battle. So here are my suggestions on killing units- My (biased) usual tip- use a carnosaur! They excel at taking out large monsters, preferably using an oldblood with doppelgänger cloak, or a scar vet with sword of judgment and spear. Using a great blade on scar vet is ok, but the warblade is lame. Bastiladons or EotG are both good choices and are very capable of dealing high amounts of damage to enemy models and units. However a lot of people do agree that Ripperdactyls are excellent units for killing with their volume of attacks. So my best suggestion is trying a list like this at 2000 points Allegiance: Seraphon Mortal Realm: Ulgu Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Trait: Great Rememberer - Spell: Meteoric Convocation Saurus Sunblood (120) - Artefact: Dimensional Blade Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (240) - War Spear - Artefact: Sword of Judgement Skink Starpriest (80) - Spell: Meteoric Convocation Battleline 40 x Saurus Warriors (330) - Spears 40 x Saurus Warriors (330) - Spears 10 x Saurus Warriors (90) - Clubs Units 9 x Ripperdactyl Riders (420) Battalions Sunclaw Starhost (130) Total: 2000 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 147
Thx for your Answere. I also wanted to take Saurus Oldblood (for re-roll wound rolls of 1 for Saurus Warriors) and Saurus Scar Veteran on Carnosaur (for Command Abilitie: +attack for hit roll of 6+) for extra buffs, but I had no points left, we played 1500 points. Ripperdactyl Riders I summoned with summon points, but they were also killed by the demons immediately
1500 points, alrighty, I can work something out. But those demons killing ripperdactyls immediately?! What was your opponent playing?!? Alright, how is this list Allegiance: Seraphon Mortal Realm: Ulgu Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Trait: Great Rememberer - Spell: Meteoric Convocation Saurus Sunblood (120) - Artefact: Dimensional Blade Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur (240) - War Spear - Artefact: Sword of Judgement Battleline 40 x Saurus Warriors (330) - Spears 40 x Saurus Warriors (330) - Spears 10 x Saurus Warriors (90) - Clubs Battalions Sunclaw Starhost (130) Total: 1500 / 1500 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 116 So the plan is to summon in the starpriest while getting in that awesome ability from the scar vet
He played the following: Allegiance: Slaanesh Leaders Keeper of Secrets (360) - Ritual Knife Keeper of Secrets (360) - Ritual Knife Battleline 30 x Daemonettes (300) 30 x Daemonettes (300) 10 x Daemonettes (110) Endless Spells / Terrain Mesmerising Mirror (60) Total: 1490 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 98 With the stupid ability an enemy unit can only fight on the 2+ at the end of the combat phase. And the Keeper of Secrets makes so bad Damage,
I will need to examine that list more, but I am guessing your opponent only wiped those two blocks either from luck or some serious stretches of the rules. Against daemons, if you have them, try Bastiladons as they have excellent characteristics against chaos daemons which would be a huge help against them
well, barring some exceptions (facing daemons and field bastiladons), keep in mind one thing: we are an army with great abilities, but outdated warscrolls, with poor performance when compared to the units of the new armies. You will rarely find yourself in the position of winning because you deal more damage. We usually win by war of attrition, feeding summoned units to the enemy, eroding its defenses, losing more models and more units but winning tnx to mobility and objectives control.
Yes, I've noticed that, especially when I compare my Seraphon army with my Flesh Eater Courts and Beastclaw Raiders Army. That's why the thread that I miss the "bums" ;D
Either you are german, or I don't get why you would need homeless people in your army . You're lacking punch, so you could try two Bastiladons, lasering his keepers. Preferrably paired with a saurus Standard Bearer and hiding behind 40 Saurus Warriors. Salamanders could also be viable. What is in your model pool?
yes im from German btw Austria But with BUMS i mean BOOOOM ;D You mean my Modell-list ? I have: 1x Lord Kroak 1x Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur 2x Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur 1x Troglodon 2x Bastiladon (Sunbeam) 1x Bastiladon (Sotek) 2x Stegadon (Engine Of The Gods) 9x Ripperdactyl Riders 4x Razordon 12x Skink Handlers 1x Saurus Astrolith Bearer 3x Skink Starpriest 2x Saurus Oldblood 34x Saurus Guards 16x Saurus Knights 158x Saurus Warriors 153x Skinks 5x Chamelen Skinks 1x Slann Starmaster 3x Terradon Riders 4x Fleckkröte 1x Tiktaq'to 1x Saurus Sunblood 1x Saurus Eternity Warden 3x Kroxigor BUT, I just wanted to play a Saurus Army List and not always the default list (Skinks + Ripperdactyl Riders + Bastiladon).
Ja mein Freund, das habe ich verstanden. Im Angesicht stärkerer Armeen kann ein wenig mehr Bumms wirklich nicht schaden Wow, okay, you've got almost everything, so you are flexible. What about 2 Laser-dons, Astrolith, 2 Stegadons (Bows), 40 Saurus (Spears), 2x10 Saurus (Swords), some Knights to block 30 deamonettes for one round, or skinks, something to take objectives or a summoning slann to be even more flexible. Sunblood to buff Saurus. Snipe those pesky Keepers. Razordons vs. Mass? I'd love to recommend more Saurians, but against first strike slaaneshi... just counter-productive
