Fair point, I need to decide and commit to some kind of basing. That's worth some thinking today. If the hobby shop is open on the way home, I'll stop in and see what's what. That's actually not even effects. I just blew a cloud of vape-smoke over the table and let it creep along the surface while I snapped the photos.
@Wytchphyre77 Could you list out the paints you used on your Slann and his chair? The stone in particular looks dope
Yep, he's stupidly simple actually. Skin- back bubblegum crisis hot metallic pink, belly platinum. (over wraith one spray) Then contrast Iyanden yellow. And done. (warts were some army painter sickly green leftover from my nurgle guys I can't remember the name of) Chair, primed in Grey seer, then the vines were picked out in warp lightning. Washed in aggrax earthshade. Then auric armor gold details, then a second wash. (whole chair and vines each time, w/ gold in between so it only gets washed once) Then some detail bits. But the trick here on the slaan skin is *subtle* metalics that are already close to white. It just makes a very subtle effect but it remains shimmery, while being flat from the contrast yellow laid over top. (a light filtering trick usually used in car finishing to dull a metallic with a matte translucent over top.) the photos don't do justice to the end effect.
So, I haven't really been getting into too much seraphon this week. I've just finished building a bastillidon, and I'm kicking into my first box of ripperdactyl riders. So... Way more grey plastic on the shelf. I think I'll just man up. It has to be skinks next. Like, they're nearly all one color, and the troop guys can be simpler than characters... So... I gotta knock out something other than big stuff. Here's my best college try: By next Wednesday, I want all 20 skinks painted, and my razordons and handlers.
The back scales are cygore brown contrast, with a black Templar contrast underbelly. Sorry I haven't posted lizards in a minute. I'm about to o spray a whole tray of skinks. But I had been helping my wife with a proof of concept on her Idoneth Deepkin concept. So, I'll share that here... They're pretty...
So.... 3 hours ago I posted my wife's deepkin... And I cracked into some skinky skinks.... Holy shit contrast really makes the assembly line less painful. I've got wood, metal, eyes and jems left to go but... Damn
