OK, we are flooded by lists made by various players that wants to have a discussion or to have advices about tournament lists, friendly games, narrative campaigns and so on. We also have people that want to share weird or FUN ideas that they have, to see how much are they are viable. an excellent example of the latter ones, is the recently posted list made by @MackiMac , that features 4 Bastilark that will hopefully enter in melee since turn 1, tnx to a combination of LoSaT, Cogs and Soulscream bridge. You get the gist of the thread. Such ideas are so funny that are at risk to drown within all the other legitimate threads about more standard lists. So, this will hopefully be the home for crazy ideas, a place to post this specific kind of list and discuss about them. enjoy!
The Dread Engines - 2000 pts How many Engine of the Gods can we play alongside a Dread Saurian? 260 - Slann - general, great rememberer 240 - EotG 240 - EotG 240 - EotG 420 - Dread Saurian 160 - Astrolith Bearer 80 - Skink starpriest 70 - 10 skinks 80 - 5 Saurus knights 80 - 5 Saurus knights 80 - Cogs 50 - Additional command point you place all your pieces, keeping the EotG as the last ones. Buff the Dread with the starpriest (staff and starlight), have the Slann cast some damage spell, then cogs with +2 to charge. Use 1 of your 2 CPs to use the command ability of the Slann: give Fly and reroll saves vs shooting to the trio of the EotG and the Dread Saurian. Use the EotG for a barrage of 3d6 MWs (or summon screens) LoSaT the Dread and the Astrolith Bearer, enjoy the charge at 7", rerollable tnx proximity of the AB, have the Dread Saurian enter melee rerolling all to hit tnx to the AB. Give the AB a relic… light of dracothion to immediately negate a spell in the incoming turn or prysm of amyntok for more MWs. Wreck the enemy lines with the Dreddy and let your enemy concentrate on it, while your 3 Engines do their job. EDIT: funnily enough, it works also with a Dread Saurian + triple Carnosaur. That's some bites!
hmmmmmm ok MORE SKINKS 1970 points the goll is to play with my entire skink summoning board from turn 1 now you have 270 of the guys kill that if you can 80 - skink starpriest 280 - 40 skinks 280 - 40 skinks 280 - 40 skinks 280 - 40 skinks 280 - 40 skinks 280 - 40 skinks 70 - 10 skinks 70 - 10 skinks 70 - 10 skinks iv actually done this to demonstrate the downside to summoning it was the most frustrating game my opponent ever played i surrounded his army intierly turn one with a 40 man blob and LoSaT and just shut down his movement for 5 turns never doing that again.
...with the 30 remaining points you can pick a Prismatic palisade, to further block the movement of your opponent, unless he doesn't have flyers. now, imagine it when skinks were still priced only 60 pts...
ah your right i don't have that model yet but im tempted to run the most frustrating skink list now maby ill take a verient of this with a slann summoner to a tournament and get the lowest score ever for sportsmanship

Check again. 4 slann . Lots of contemplating the stars. And a whole lot of dispels. Edit: I should probably also add there is method to my madness. Lately local tournaments have been playing with all the realm rules. This means my slanns know all the realm specific spells for each realm they are fighting in. So while having a bunch of 3 spell casters may seem like a waste, in this format they actually all know 9 spells. 6 realm + 1 seraphon + plus arcane bolt and arcane shield.
Looks fun! Sadly you only get to roll once on the Celestial Configuration table, even when you have multiple Slanns though.
I really like the spells shamans get on duris, they are really shamanistic. On Toril, they are just a combination of cleric/enchanter/whatever, but all spells on duris are pretty much unique to the class. And most of em are pretty darn nifty..
Have sbd thought about army list build for enemy bravery ? Troglodon dracothian and duble carno and anything else for reducing bravery. Dread surian maybe. Dreamed first turn. Find unit that is very dangerous and also can take battleshock and attack 3x baner from knights + troglodon =-4 bravery + duble carno. Can be good vs minigun ratogres, sth with great save etc even with screen.
I really don’t like how AoS has been allowing so many factions to skip battleshock, it was a huge part of fantasy and its loss severely hampers tactics
