Jim: "Ha! We'll show him. HEY, BILLY! Cancel your work on the new Seraphon, we've got some new Stormcast (A)elf models!" Billy:*sigh* "Why do they do this every time I'm about to update another army?" Jim:*walking into the room* "So the plan is to have them riding giant velociraptors, so Seraphon players will- Billy:*quickly closes image of cyborg laser dinosaur for 40k he had been working on* Jim: "-buy the Saurus knight kit AND the new models for conversions!" Billy: "Are you sure? I mean, the Seraphon players have been-" Jim: "SILENCE, HERETIC!"
This may not be directly connected to the Seraphon rumors, but Warhammer TV recently posted videos of Saurus painted in traditional style and with contrast paints. I guess that will tide us over... I want updated lizards.
No pardon required... the less we know of Stormcast the better. I wish I could purge them from the collective memory of the world!
Unfortunately, getting a video on how to paint a Saurus Warrior is probably a sign that if we get new models, Saurus resculpts aren't likely to be among them.
Saurians may not change, but some other faction such as salamanders or Razordons do need an urgent renewal. In any case, the important thing is that they change their rules more than their aesthetics. It is what I personally believe. That both the little Skink and the saurus or guards have only 1 wound is absurd. I hope something big approaches and makes the ground shake.
Try fire, and lots of it. If you pray enough Vulcan will help you In all honesty while I do kinda like the dragons I truly and some of the armor aesthetic is sort of cool, any originality or stylistic superiority is utterly lost because it is so constantly shoved in our faces.
I should correct this; symbolistic originality, their armor is pretty obviously a disgusting knock off of the space marnies. The symbols on their shields and armor is somewhat more decent
meh to be honest, most SCE have enough to distinguish them from space marines visually. Especially the newer, and more elite, ones that tend to come covered in robes and other little trinkets or have a funky pauldron or something. Imho visually they're not that terrible. Or at least it could be worse. Feels like they could've been someones attempt at making a unique chapter, kind of how Thousand Sons, custodes or Death guard have their own aesthetic as well, or models from another brand trying to emulate the same style. Fluff-wise though they barely differ at all.. Superhuman soldiers, created by the god-emporer of humankind who sits on a golden throne. With a tendency to be overzealous and smite the innocent alongside the wicked. Also becoming one requires you go through a terrible initiation. Made to conquer the realms/galaxy so normal humans can be safe and happy. Imho that's the biggest dissapointment, the fluff is just a straight rip-off.
If that is a carnosaur on that card, they've fed it something different than they did in Lustria, either that or that Orc wyvern thing got smaller and what is that armor that one saurus i wearing?
My guess would be a new Saurus warrior models along with a new Saurus hero similar to the Orruk warchanter.
Just did some checks and a few other existing Warscroll cards have the faction vs something but the Saurus do look very interesting in this one, very different armour, especially with previous art, normal Saurus didn't had much on them. Will continue staring at the image.
