So I completely understand where you are coming from, that is the main reason why I haven't painted tatoos on my savage orcs yet I have painted this exact model too; they looked good at first but looked WAY better after I "messed them up" a bit with just some straight up brown wash (aggrax earthshade I think?) and they look a TON better now. I recommend a few brown washes over most of the model, it really helped, even over the metal bits.
Lol, I will give it a try I have done this already, but I really like to put highlights as well. I will show the results soon. Gr, Imrahil
And I did give it a try Let me know what you think(Basing still to be done, pictures are not taken by natural lighting...) I also got to start on the Megaboss, here I started with the base Gr, Imrahil
There is the struggle for me, cause I am not that keen on All the Blood for the Blood God. But I was thinking to create a Blue or purple Blood trail... Not yet sure how. Gr, Imrahil
A little update from my side of things. It has been at least a month since my last post in here... All this due to the fact that I, since for 5 weeks, have started to work full time again (this should have been the end of a recovery period of almost 5 months, because of my concussion in June). Though it seemed alright in the first two weeks of full time working, after the third I kind of had a setback. So after consulting with my doctor (and the companies doctor) It is from this week, to the end of the year, that I will have the Wednesdays off to rest. So I am looking forward to catch up on some lost time in painting For now some pics of last weeks lunch break activity: Gr, Imrahil
Thanks, Guys! Making up for lost time: So here they are, nearly finished. I will take up basing at the end, in one go. And here they are lead by there Scar-Vet (excuses for the blurry picture) C&C welcome Gr, Imrahil
People keep complaining about the Cold Ones (and rightfully so) but they still look pretty cool when properly painted, like these.
Thanks that means a lot I got to it last weeks so here are another 2: And the Total of Cold Ones with Sauri: Gr, Imrahil
Thanks a lot I have been struggeling on the base/position of my Stegadon, wich one do you guys prefer? (Uphill or downhill) Curious about your opinions/ motivation for it Gr, Imrahil
Hmm.. Its really hard honesty going uphill gives the stegadon a bit more height and makes it look more imposing to both the enemy aswell as standing out over your own guys. Although it coming downwards does have its benefits as well, its horns and head are faced almost directly on with eye level of a normal soldier, this makes it look like it's about to charge or facing them off. On top of that I think the skinks on top would also benefit as going down would make them look a bit more dynamic.
Uphill makes the raised foot to look more natural IMHO. Downhill looks like the Stegadon is having trouble walking down
