Hi there, after round about 12 years, I restarted my hobby 3 months ago. The rules of AoS are still kind of new to me and I'm trying to figure out, how everything changed. I had some Saurus warriors and Skinks left from back then (bought shortly after the "Lizardmen" were overhauled) and bought the Start Collecting box, as it is a ridiculously good deal. Now, I am standing here and think about what to build: 1. Oldblood on Carnosaur 2. Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur Or 3. Troglodon and the Oldblood on foot. (Those are the options of the set. On first thought, I am favouring 1. or 3., but maybe I am wrong there.) I hope, you can help me decide, as I think, that you are more experienced. It would also be a blast, if you could explain your decision. Thanks a lot. I'm really looking forward to your answers! (Also, poll. )
Welcome to Lustria! Currently the Oldblood on Carnosaur is the most universally useful of the two options.
I would suggest looking at this post: http://www.lustria-online.com/threa...rom-your-start-collecting-seraphon-box.20560/ Why not have your cake and eat it too! (shows a simple conversion the get the carnosaur and the troglodon) Not to mention several other useful conversions to get an old one on foot, an astorlith bearer, etc.
I would say the most important thing to think about is what you think would be the most fun to paint and/or play. The SC tutorial mentioned above is really good, and if you want to have even MORE out of it, I would really recommend using blue stuff: Use this to copy the Oldblood body parts, and use them to convert the Saurus heroes! If they’re the right size, you could probably use one of the skulls from the citadel skulls kit to make an eternity warden.
