Okay, this is okay, they could explain it. It's fine, everything was fine!

"X-Xolek, found this Salamander, used his magics, asked for help bringing it here. Hyenadons, attack a pack of them, hurt the Salamander, fought with me and Xolek, Xolek went that way!" They'd point into the woods, where they had seen Xolek go off. "I am..I am unsure what happened past that." They glanced a bit nervously at the saurus, and then the salamander. "I hope it will survive, poor thing was asleep, couldn't defend itself.."

“Eshin….” The seer ponders, looking around the room before changing subject “Yes Xlauax, You are Blessed with both Stealth of skin and Silence… If anything is suited to the job it would be a chameleon skink… Especially one who has suffered such hardships down in dark dripping prisons…”

Slowly studying the chameleon's dust-coated body the seer's eyes trace down Xlauax’s many minor scrapes and exhausted limbs... “But as you said, This would be dangerous, which it indeed would be… The Skaven hide down in the dark tight spaces where our warriors struggle to fight, Stealth above strength may be wise in this case… Now I Look further at the state of you I would recommend you first eat and rejuvenate your strength before returning to the Plaza next morning where I am eventually headed with saurus at hand to discuss the plans…”

Xlauax was a bit disappointed with being ordered to eat and rest but he couldn't exactly argue against it. He was aching all over from his fight and hadn't eaten all day. Heading out of the tent, Xlauax made his way over to the camps food stores and picked out a piece of hyenadon jerky that had been stored. After this Xlauax made his way a secluded corner of the camp before sitting down to eat. He watched as skinks and Kroxigors moved back and forth through the camp. He wanted to go help them and be part of the group but something inside wouldn't allow him. Everytime he thought to go join them he would cease up and start to sweat. He muched upon his jerky for a while till he was full and then headed to a nearby tree to sleep in. Still in view of the camp but a good 10 feet away. This would be a nice spot to sleep, he thought. As a Chameleon skink he was trained to find shelter in any terrain and he proceeded to take moss and pad up a large branch to act as bedding. Then he bent some of the branches around the area to give shelter from creatures in the ground. By doing this he made a concealed area to sleep. He knew he needed rest in order to infiltrate the Skaven. It took him a while to fall asleep but in the end the soft moss beneath him was able to persuade his mind to shut off.

Quas instinctively recognized the smell of blood and the battle-cries as opportunity. Mostly because blood spilled likely meant something good to eat afterwards. As if charmed he stood up and walked towards entrance. Upon exiting the hut he spoke with a reassuring and slightly growling voice - "Needs checking".
The scent guided him through the huts and outside the camp. It was not a long time when he reached the swamps and saw a large group of Lizardmen encircling the dead-looking Salamander. "Ohhh.. the supper made great again!" growled Quas and strolled towards disoriented Xanahol. The Kroxigor patted the Skink arm and ended with a slightly more excited voice - "Its too big to take in one piece. I chop. You take to camp". He then turned to the Salamander with a cleaver in his hand only to pause upon seeing all sorts of improvised medical equipment strapped to its tail...

Okay, maybe things weren't as okay as the skink was hoping. The kroxigor coming up now, the known camp chef, was not a good sign. Was it already determined to not be savable? They quickly raised their hands, wincing at the strain on their cuts and bruises.

"No chop! Please! It may still be able to be healed! L-Let the Xolek check it first, he's the one that will determine it!" by the old ones he wished Xolek was here! If only because an oracle has much more pull than a beast tamer overall.

The abyss of his dark dreams was breached by a frightening Warcry: 'Xiliquanili'
. It sounded strange, loud but not quite as voluminus as it used to be. It was surely no Saurus or Kroxigor. Before he could end his thuoght Pain emerged from his left shoulder and he remebered what happened.
The Chamber, the Cloak, The Guardians and the pure Pain.
Shocked from his Memories he opened his eyes wide in his Dread. He saw that he was in the big tent of the healer Ztuzli and recognized big ants crawling thruogh a big chunk of meat on the table. The old healer stud there and watched the ants feasting upon their meal. Some of the Ants had big sacks on their back, which were ten times bigger then them. The sacks were filled with a amber substance like chotecs fire rising over the Jungles and Temples of Hexoatl.

He missed Hexoatl very hardly and remembered on of his Nightmares where his beloved birthplace was devoured by the malevolent power of the dark prince Slaanesh. He feared that it wasn't just a nightmare.....

Suddenly Kuoteqs thuoghts were disturbed by the healers voice:"It is good that you have awoken you see what I have prepared" Kuoteq knew what he meant and shivered.....

The Kroxigor turned its head, his hand with cleaver still raised and spoke - "Why no chop? Good meat. Feed lot lizardmen.". He then glanced at the creature as a whole then with a slightly confused look turned to the Skink again speaking more slowly - "What... purpose...?".

Their tail twitched, trying to recall if Xolek had mentioned anything specific.

"many, many uses for salamander; mount, fire, defense of camp, possible future breeding. Unsure what Xolek was looking for specifically, just know they wanted it, went out of their way to bind it with magics to some degree."

The Kroxigor's head tilted left and right as he tried to make out the sense of the arguments coming out of a frantically speaking Skink. The name of Xolek briefly crossed his head as he reminded himself of a half-minded half-crazy Oracle visiting the camp not a long time ago. Quas lowered the cleaver and now with the menacing weapon clinging at his leg's light-blue scales he pointed his other hand towards the Salamander and asked Xanahol: "Xo-lehk heals Slamandeer*, I no chop... If..." - then he moved closer to the Skink, lowered his head and snorted - "No good meat for the lizardmen".

"The Salamander is worth so much more than meat though! It can be..it can fight along with us, it can be used to make better weapons, to do so many things! We should see if we can heal it first, if not, then it can be just meat, but to think of it just as meat right now is a waste of so much potential!"

Frantically turning his head Xolek’s eyes darted from place to place unable to make out the cause of the noises amongst a sea of swirling shadows cast by the canopy above…

Now clutching his weapons slightly tighter Xolek noticed the large Boa to his side slithering slowly towards a large collection of huge ferns and bushes, its still blood dripping tongue flicking at the air whilst its mouth opened slightly revealing its large rows of menacing fangs.

Turning now to face in the same direction as the Boa Xolek could now begin to notice that the fern leaves were covered in a thin film of fresh crimson. Soon Xolek began to step slightly closer whilst the serpent at his side slowly disappeared into the bush.

Seconds after the Boa disappeared fully from sight the bushes quivering shadow seemed to pounce as fast as Tepoks lightning, causing the snake to hiss and frantically struggle as it tried to free itself from a creatures whining and injured jaws…

Without wasting another moment the Oracle charged after the serpent where he revealed a wounded hyaenodon almost collapsed on the floor with a bloody handling stick firmly jolted into its shoulder as well as the now silenced boa within its bloody foaming mouth.

Before Xolek could attempt to grab or finish off the Hyaenodon it bolted, both the snake's body and the handling stick dragging behind it. Snagging on both sharp thirsting thorns and tripping on winding tree roots the creature was slowed enough in its attempt escape to allow Xolek to grab the handling stick causing the skink to now also drag behind the exhausted hyenadon as it desperately bounded forward, the skinks added weight driving the sticks spines deeper into the beasts shoulder muscles as well as slowing the frenzied creature down.

Holding on Tightly, the Oracle can feel branches scratch at his scales as the beast still attempts to break away. Blood dripping and seemingly spraying in the wind onto Xolek, he Grips his whip firmly as he attempts to send it forward towards the Hyenadojs neck, but missing. The now bucking and kicking animal fights the pain of the impaled shoulder, angry growls echo against the many trees around them. Not letting go the oracle holds on and again attempts to lash out with his whip around the neck to pull it down or to attempt to stop it ( -1 Skill point, 0 left). Letting out a groan as his grip strains, he curses to himself, his tail with the carnosaur tooth still in its grasp whips wildly behind him.

As Quas bolted suddenly from the healer's hut, Tiqxoltiq let out an exasperated sigh. "Oh Sotek, what is that kroxigor doing now? Change of plans, Zuztle, I better follow Quas and make sure he doesn't re-injure himself."

It took some effort to follow in the steps of the faster, taller kroxigor, and when Tik finally caught up to him a debate over an injured Salamander was in the works. "Quas," Tik said, his sour tone interrupting their discussion, "you are supposed to be resting, not charging off like a loosened blowdart! Now, what is this about eating a Salamander?" Looking down at the creature in question, Tik frowned. "No. No, no, no. Quas, the herders are obviously trying to train this creature as a camp guard! You would be better off asking to borrow it to start cookfires than trying to cook it! Absolutely not!"

Now Xolek’s whole body was covered in scratches and scrapes all plastered over by layers of thick mud made wet by the rain whilst his concentrated and determined face was speckled with blood as he lashed out his whip once again.

Its streamlined and long leather surface flew through the wind before it tangled itself around the hyaenodons neck and the snake’s body still within its jaws.

Tugging backwards Xolek can feel the hyaenodon beginning to falter and tire as they continue bolting away from the camp… Getting further away Xolek could feel a strange sensation in his gut whilst his intuition desperately tells him to return, but he was so close now….

With one last attempt the oracle groans and curses using his tail as another improvised whip to lash around the hyaenodons legs and neck before he tugs with all the strength the skink can muster.

Simultaneously with Xoleks desperate attempts the beast stumbles on a web of sprawling tree roots sending it flying forward still dragging the now attached oracle behind as the beast lands with a crunch on its side before it uncontrollably rolls down a steep hill laid out in front of them.

The oracles unheard shouts were drowned out by the beast whines as the skinks attempts to regain his footing and grip failed, causing him to be dragged back down into a mad tumble by his whip and firm grip on the handling stick. (-0.05 Wounds to Xolek-zi, Leaving him with 0.95) remaining)

As the decline only became sheerer the pair were unable to weave their way through the tree stumps and clumps of ferns that littered the jungle floor causing both the hyaenodon and Xolek-zi to be engulfed in storms of nagging thorns or forced through clumps of thin gnarled branches. (-0.15 Wounds to Xolek-zi, Leaving him with 0.8 remaining)

Panic only further ensues as the skink frantically scrambles trying to attach himself onto the steep hillside as the hyaenodons now dead weight drags him down further, Every seemingly firm patch of soil crumbling away and every seemingly stable branch or root snapping to join them in their tumbling descent… (-0.05 Wounds to Xolek-zi, Leaving him with 0.75 remaining)

    ----

Soon the pair of sarus who were kneeling down by the side of the salamander both got to their feet before looking over at the conversing skinks and kroxigor with confused glances until they seemingly understand the message - that the salamander is food and should be transported back to the camp immediately...

Whether they chose to ignore both the skinks words or plainly didn't understand them the two saurus had obviously noticed Quas’s attempts to gain a fresh meal for the camp that would surely make up for the boar that they lost the day before, resulting in both saurians heaving the salamander from the ground leaving a large pool of blood-soaked mud.

The one clasping onto the salamanders head signalled to Quas who was now turning around to help haul the dying creature to the closest fire as he spoke out once again With the smug expression of victory across his large face. “Saur-rus undErStAND, We, I not eating salamander…. Rest of camp is!”

Immediately Quas caused uproar amongst the two skinks who now raised their voices in defiance causing Tik to step forth and take control of the situation and confusion for once and for all backed up by Hakal who had also been drawn out due to the skink warcry.

    ----

His consciousness still half suspended in sleep Zuztle’s many rushed words seemed to fade in his head… “And y-yes.. Our ants are truly fascinating…” The healer now rummages in the jar until he reveals his hand now clasping a fattened and bloated ant, its amber back bulging with sustenance. “Here priest, Have this… Its not often one gets to taste such a delicacy, these ants uses within my hut are endless” The healer slowly draws his hand towards the priest whilst his voice trails off listing uses and stories about the ants...

Inspecting closer Kuoteq’eko can see the fat ant within his palm struggling to move as it pathetically wriggles weighed down by its sugary burden, The bubbling sap held within causing Kuoteq’Eko’s mouth water…

“But first… We both know that I must first c--cauterize your main wound to help slow the bleeding before I apply some lotion…”

Upon hearing the words cauterize Kuoteq suddenly froze as Zuztle revealed a steaming hot iron tool from his back, the air around it smouldering…

Putting his trust into the healer even though they had lost one eye the priest slowly edged forward closing his eyes and waiting for the pain.

And it was pain that came… Tensing all of the muscles within his body kuoteq clamped his mouth and eyes shut whilst Zuztle applied the searing heat to the torn flesh and bleeding wounds of his left arm.

Soon the pain was starting to lessen as the flesh turned white and the blood boiled causing the wounds to ever so slightly seal.

Frothing at the mouth Kuoteq tried to speak out but was silenced by the healer as Zuztle carefully applied another sizzling elixir to the larger wounds, the strange liquid extinguishing the heat and soothing the burning with a cool icy chill…

After several minutes of tireless work, Zuztle finally stopped before once again picking the struggling ant up from the nearby shelf and offering it to the pain enduring priest.

    ----

Adept at climbing Xlauax made his way up the huge Lustrian tree’s sprawling branches, His tail acting as an additional limb as he ascended further.

Eventually reaching a favourable platform of sturdy branches high above the forest floor and with a good view of the surrounding area Xlauax began to settle down by first placing a small pad of soft thick moss and then firmly wrapping his tail around the branch to ensure he would not fall, All whilst gently chewing on a particularly thick strip of Hyaenodon Jerky, The salt-saturated meat snapped and crunched as the chameleons strong tongue forced it down onto his many needle-pointed teeth.

After sorrowfully watching the lizardmen within the camp go about their duty, some transporting goods, others re-building crushed structures or gathering needed materials and even relaxing by small fires Xlauax eventually allowed himself to rest despite his longings to join the other lizardmen below…

Suddenly drawing his attention away from the lizardmen below Xlauax was pestered by the increased sound of buzzing as a large dragonfly hovered nearby attracted by the small swarm of other jungle critters that circled above the resting chameleon.

Taking it as an opportunity to both have a snack, and remove the irritation Xlauax became motionless, holding his breath awaiting for the dragonfly to approach slightly closer, The only sign that the chameleon was even alive being his faint and lowered heartbeat.

Within a flash Xlauax ripped open his mouth as his huge muscled tongue catapulted from its cage of teeth to ensnare and grab the flying creature in a suffocating bundle of sticky saliva and sinue.

Now well fed the chameleons whirling thoughts were soon blurred and cut off whilst his sensitive flickering scales collected beads of moisture as the soft moss slowly indented cushioning the chameleon's tired limbs finally allowing Xlauax’s tortured soul and body to fall into a deep rest. Giving his body a chance to revitalise and rejuvenate as the chameleon slowly mumbled and subconsciously stroked ‘Vengeance's’ smooth glossed handle...

As Xolek tumbled down the hill like a tumbleweed he noticed rocks and a small creek below each time his face would face the bottom. Clawing at the soil and the roots he finally let's go only to realize his safety strap that keeps it from slipping from his wrist is stuck. Continued to be pulled downwards he is flung violently onto the creek bed, confront of him a mangled and impaled hyenadon, barely breathing and looked to have broken bones.

The oracle lies in the running creek water, it coming up half way up his forehead, his eyes not open as the pain swells through him, blood from both coloring the creeks water...

Many minutes later Xolek opens his eyes, the sun peering through the canopy above, his tail feeling limp, the tooth missing. Moving his wrist, he makes sure it's not broken, he can't recall when he finally came loose from his whip that he noticed was still tightly secured around the neck of the beast down a few yards from him. Slowly rising to his knees, the scratches burn as water trickles into them, a groan let's out of the Oracles lungs.

Looking around he sees the large Carnosaur tooth in the far bank, surprisingly still intact. Looking at the hyenadon Xolek, looks for his dagger, which he does not see. Wanting to end the animals suffering he begins to make his way to his whip to strangle the mist dead predator unless there was a large rock he could pick up over his head...

Hakal turned his gaze between all lizards present, confusion welling within him. He couldn't grasp what was being disputed, nor why. As lizards all around him growled and bickered some more, the kroxigor left. He walked back to the medical area, for a fascination was brewing.

Hakal's curious thoughts swirled attentively, and memories flickered. He wanted to learn Zuztle's medical techniques in any way he could. With such skills, he could heal others, and in turn, heal himself in some form...

The hulking kroxigor entered the building, contraptions and vials surrounding him once more. He came upon Zuztle feeding an ant to a weakened Kuoteq'Eko, and with a suppressed growl, he asked a question.

    "How to heal?"

[Hey all! After talking to Naz and brainstorming a bit a few changes to my character have been okay'd. One of the big changes is that my tail is no longer a forked tail but is instead split into three, is feathered towards the end and has 2 orbs among the feathered area. The big change is my Temple City of Origin which is now Axlotol instead of my OC temple city. A primary part of my backstory has also changed but that will be revealed later. Aside from that, my character is the same pipe smoking skink we have all come to (hopefully) love

After glancing around and taking a moment to regain his senses and draw in large painful breaths of fresh air Xolek slowly stumbles to the hyaenodons shattered body that had not been so fortunate to land within the soft mud lining the creek’s edges but instead had been violently thrown onto a collection of large rocks plastered with vicious tree roots.

Letting out one last sorrowful and gurgling whine the agonized creatures head became fully submerged in the gentle lapping waters that trickled into its substantial wounds slowly guiding the beast's blood to join the creeks peaceful flow. Unable to move or resist its sorrowful fate the hyaenodon awaited its drawn out and interminable slow death…

Now noticing the bleeding creature becoming engulfed by the crystal clear waters Xolek neared wanting to end the animals suffering to ensure its souls a safe and peaceful passage as well as showing a sign of respect to both Itzl and Caxuatn alike…

Hands slightly trembling Xolek-Zi picks up a large flat rock from the bank and returns back to the creature. Leaning over the Hyenadons frail helpless form Xolek whispers out one last prayer before striking down onto the creature's skull with his last residues of strength.

Seconds after the crunch the beast's lungs slowly rest and its pulse comes to a stop giving its relieved body a chance to slowly rise on the bubbling waters before it is carried further downstream where it would surely provide a welcome feast and abundant sustenance for the jungles other creatures and craving soil.

Contrasting with the hyaenodon Xoleks heart races whilst he stands up and begins to slowly harvest the Hyaenodon for both sodden fur and its sharp teeth and claws using the Carnosaur tooth itself as a makeshift tool. After collecting all the he could gather from the Hyaenodon the exhausted skink now gently leans against the bank breathing rapidly.. (+1 Exhausted state to Xolek, Leaving his stats at - M4 WS1 BS1 S1 T1 W0.75 I3 A1 Ld4 0 skill points, 1 battle, 0 magic, 0 beast handling.) (+5 Hyenadon Teeth, +1 Hyenadon pelt)

After a short while the oracle gets to his feet and wades into the clear water to clean away both the blood and mud that plastered his body, revealing his usual dark obsidian scales that now shone with a moon silver sheen as he knelt down to sip from the cool stream.

the pure water was trickling down his parched throat reinvigorates his search efforts as he scans the silt and gravel for any sign of his Ceremonial serpent dagger.

    ----

Turning to see that it was Hakal who had entered back into the hut Zuztle quickly rushed over to the hulking kroxigor that loomed over him, his simple statement still hanging in the air as the skink healer rushed him over to a large stone seat near the priest.

“H-How To h-he heal?” Zuztle looked over at the kroxigors blank and emotionless face with a slightly confused side tilted expression

“Yes. Hakal want to heal.” Hakal bellowed once again in an attempt to make his declaration slightly clearer to the skink who now understood and rushed off to collect a large item that had been placed on the central table.

As the healer returned with a large leatherbound book, its many damp bamboo pages describing herb lore and giving a basic understanding of the art of healing Hakal managed to smile, perhaps he could eventually learn how to tend the poor wounded skinks and saurus he often witnesses and encounters…

“The a-art of healing is a complex and intricate one… Especially challenging even for skinks let alone a kroxigor... B-but if you insist Hakal, I will show you the very basics..” Zuztle explained after nodding towards Kuoteq who was still mesmerized by the ant that crawled and struggled within his hand, the priests urges to slowly squash the insect bubbling up into his tiered mind as he pictured the ant's payload oozing out, filling his hand with the pungent, thick amber broth…

Now takeing a seat beside the imposing kroxigor Zuztle slowly rambled about complex techniques and the infinite uses of flowers, herbs and plants. All of which Hakal gently nodded to, straining his ears and eyes as he tried to concentrate upon the skinks rapid words that swirled around him, disappearing before his simple head could grasp or understand them.

Part pretending and struggling to realise Zuztle’s collection of mumbles and slurs Hakal reaches out before slowing the skink in his rapid flipping of pages, finally giving the kroxigor more time to let the words meanings sink in.

Willing to teach and advise Zuztle fumbles over to a pair of draws and passes Hakal a pair of bandages before instructing the Kroxigor to practice covering and treating a basic wound in a simple bamboo gauze.

    Consumable: 2x Basic Bandage
Description: Woven from thin layers of stripped bamboo and other plant fibres these types of basic bandages can be easily made or bought, crudely fulfilling their role as shabby dressings and plasters.

The search leading him further downstream a singular ray of reflected light winks at the oracle guiding him towards the daggers jade hilt now awkwardly jabbed into the trunk of a tree.

stretching up to grab his dagger Xolek's eyes suddenly widened as he suddenly notices a large claw-like slash on a nearby tree… A sign he knew all too well…

Heart now once again racing as Xolek raked his thoughts, Unknowingly his past self had been over zealous in his attempts at catching the hyaenodon, he had foolishly wandered into Amazon territory.

And with Chotecs fury slowly sinking beyond the distant tree lines dusk threatened to soon be upon him...

Thank goodness for cooler heads than his. The other skinks helping calmed him down, but he glanced to where Xolek had gone worried. There wasn't anything for it. "I-I'll find him, bring him back." He explains, before running off into the underbrush, going to try to seek out Xolek, and track him down to bring back.

He closed his eyes in fear before the approaching Pain of chotecs fire on his shoulder. He presed the amber liquid out of the ants sack and felt how it flew slowly in his hand. He was afraid of swallowing the ant or her liquid, but he knew that chotecs
burning heat would only be alleviated by those remedies. So he bruoght his hand to his mouth and let the amber liquid fill his mouth. It tasted sweet like honey and at the same time so hot like crimson red shrumpled chili's of the hills near of Hexoatl. Exacly there where the great Fire of Chotec touches the Azur heavens vault of Tepok. There were the great Slann Mazdamundi rose up in the light of dawn and.....
His thuoghts were again breched by the muffled piercing Inferno of burning Pain from the almost molten stick of metal from the healer. It took almost forever and Kuoteq'eko was about to get unconcious again and feared the Nightmares of his deystroyed Home so much that he almost bit of his forked tongue. The Pain ended in the right moment, a bit later he would be unable to withstand the Pain. He opened his eyes slowly, aware from continuation of the procedure. He looked frightened into the eyes of Zutzle, who replied to him with a encouraging gaze. Now Kuoteq'eko was sure that the main Pain was over, the wound was still hurting like molten Stone from the spine of Sotek on the Skin. Then he saw how Zuztle took out a phiole of stellar blue elixir and applied on Kuoteq'ekos' left shoulder wound. Kuoteq'eko had to grin because of the icecold deliverance from his pain. He closed his eyes and tried to remeber a moment where he felt something as cold like that. When he did his smile was lost in his face and a grim shadow conquered his face from the happiness. *'You are the defenders of the plan of the Old ones? You are naive slaves to your primitive ritiualists! No one of you has ever seen the power of the 'Old Ones'! Mathlann is the real god you should listen to' screamed the arrogant and from the sea crazy Asur Ilithgar and rammed his halberd in the injured Saurus before Kuoteq'eko his old friend from the guard in Hexoatl. Kuoteq began to scream from his innerest and with a extremly sad cry a searing arc emerged from his staff and shattered the Highelf into scrapes and fragments of reality.....*
He Had to cry and shiver when rememebering that. He tried Tobe quiet and don't disturb the by Hakal confused Zuztlewhile talking about healing. Now Kuoteq'eko had to rest and think long about the days in Hexoatl and his new 'Friends'........
