I think you have that backwards. Going downhill, the foot is stepping on something that is horizontal. Going up hill, the foot is at too steep an angle and wouldn't have any traction. I think the angle of the hill is a little bit too steep. Lowering the angle just a little bit should make either pose for natural. I love how dynamic the stegadon looks at an angle! Wish I had thought of that when I built my base....
Thank you all for the replies. I think I lean more to a the downhill approach, due to the standing of the skinks on top. The Steg being with his horns at eye-hight is a nice bonus. As well when the Stegadon is moving uphill I think his soft under skin is showing more, making him look more venerable. I won't be able to build him any further soon, but nice to know what to do when I can Gr, Imrahil
Trying to continue the painting: So another two Saurus Knights are done Two more to join the pack: Gr, Imrahil
Thanks guys! In the meantime I' ve been working on my SCB of Ironjawz. Sort of finished the last unit(Heads and sidearmor are not attached to make for easier painting). For the arms I have decided to make them interchangeble. Some hold naturally others by magnatizing. (This makes them also easier to transport) The glue is now dried out good. Whilst putting those Gruntaz together I discovered alternative Heads for the unit: Having time next week i'll play my First battle Ironjawz SCB vs Seraphon SCB interested in how that turns out. Grrr, Imrahil
Thanks! I managed to finish another two Knights, just in time for the end of the month. (As per usual, real basing will be done in the end. All Knights at once) Grrr, Imrahil
Making the best out of derposaurs, I see. They ended up looking pretty cool. What motivated your choice of bases?
Thanks! Bases are not totally finished, but for this stage the're alright. I'll finish those with grass and plants (I'll paint the vegetation later) when all Knights are painted, mostly because i am making quite a mess with all the grass, so i'd like to reduce the times I use it. Grrr, Imrahil
Something different for a change. I assembled the SC Sylvaneth box. These have some very delicate sprues. I snapped some branches here and there But all-in-all they're nice trees much detail. the Branchwych is very nice and quite easy. The Dryads come with 2 extra bases so there is potential to build 2 scratch Dryads to bump the unit up to 18 models. I decided to modify the Treelord to be able to table all 3 options. This took some compromises on the stands and main body parts, but I am happy how he turned out. I magnetized the heads and right-hand weapons, they fit rather nicely. So the band is ready to play some battles Grrr, Imrahil PS: extra shenanigans, like owl's and insects, still need to be added
Looking good!!! Was this box purchased before or after knowing the can Allie our beloved Dino’s!! Or can you just see in the futur?!?
I bought this box in a upwelling around the release of the new dual box Looncurse. So undisciplined is more of the right wording but I am glad they can ally Grrr, Imrahil
I started on one of my SC Skinks boxes lately. Me loving my magnets Sunbeam Crystal is in 2 pieces for painting sake. The total Sunbeam Canon is loose Without magnets because they fit nicely in the slots. Figuring out now how to build the Ark of Sotek and the other units. I see that the Bastilodon has 2 extra Skinks (beside the 3 that crew the Sunbeam Canon) and the Terradons have 1 extra, with the 12 already their makes a Nice unit of 15 Skinks Grrr, Imrahil
Tonight I primed two of my SCB armies. Sylvaneth And Ironjawz This will keep me bussy for a while Grrr, Imrahil
Hi @Imrahil. Thank you for posting this because I've been thinking about magnetizing my bastiladon, too. But, just to clarify... -It looks like you put a magnet over each front shoulder (to attach the different front spiky plates of the shell) and a magnet in the head (to attach the different head crests), yes? -You feel like the solar engine will fit in securely enough at the two peg spots on the shell? -Will you attach the skink crew to the engine or the bastiladon?
