That new map looks nice: It includes a full map of Norsca now, with lots of named settlements on it as with the Empire and Bretonnia, so does that bring the possibility of a fully playable Norse faction, given that a separate Norse faction exists in Warhammer: Total War? Those shields on the video excerpt look like the coats of arms of different Imperial Emperors, so is it going to be set in a time before the previous Fantasy editions, when the Empire was split up into warring factions (even more warring than usual I mean)? Certainly there was an Age of Three Emperors, but an Age of Four Emperors? That'll take some explaining in canon...
It's kinda odd that most realms have weapons and artifacts but High Ayzr just doesn't. Maybe after extended presence there the Slann and Kroak with Dracothion gave it a shape similar to Lustria
It wouldn't surprise me if they're saving Azyr for a later expansion of some sort. And if they do, the Seraphon better get a modest entry to lore & rules considering we and the SCE are pretty much the only two armies there...that we know of at least. Dun dun dun! lol
CoS battletome hints that Azyr will be included as another Realm at some point. By the way, did they gave realm rules to All-Point? Since the new map depicts only Old World and no Lustria or Southlands, does it mean that Lizardmen are not in plans at least for a start?
I would be surprised if they did that, as Lizardmen are an integral faction - I think they've just focused on the Old World at the moment because that is the protagonist region of Warhammer Fantasy. They'll probably get onto mapping out Ulthuan, Naggaroth, Lustria, Nehekhara and the Southlands later on.
that was to be expected really, what's the point of announcing the old world if you're not going to focus on its most iconic place, inhabitants and the factions that the most left a void in the GW store? I think allpoints did get rules with the wrath of archaon supplement, but I don't think it got them to the point you can fluff your army as coming from there and getting unique artifacts etc.
Just going to point this out; we won’t have to wait much longer for our new warscrolls. Every faction that has gone up for pre order has had some of its warscrolls revealed, so if all goes according to tradition we should probably start seeing the new warscrolls in a few days. Sunday is getting ever closer!
Any predictions? Changes to Saurus are almost mandatory, I think we'll get mount traits and general buffs to the behemoths, small ones that'll go a long way. Personally I hope but it's unlikely that Kroak will get a big buff and point increase to mirror his lore. As well as some named characters
Oh man...I didn't even think about this!! Imagine making the carnosaur stronger, faster or more durable on top of a new (hopefull better) warscroll! I just got re-hyped to an even higher degree, haha!!
What I am predicting for saurus; warriors will get a 4+ save and many of their horde bonuses will become permanent rather than temporary. My guess is around 110 points for 10. Knights will also get a 4+ and go up to 3 wounds. I’m going to guess that their weapons will get rend and the lance charge will get reworked to be more powerful, triggering on maybe 5+ to hit. My guess is they will end up being similar to chaos knights with around 180 points for 5. For general saurus battleline I expect that the bite will be improved and the banner might get a rework. carnosaurs will get a 3+ and a lot more rend, as well as more attacks. Stegadons will get more wounds and a 3+, with more rend and better charge features Bastiladons also will probably get more attack types. Saurus heroes will probably get more attacks and rend, as well as better armor saves. skinks I. Guessing will get more improved combat stats in general I’m expecting all around buffs, with stuff like more spells and casting bonuses for our wizards
Kroak deserves to be on the same level stats wise as Nagash if not more powerful. My dream scenario would also include a new Kroak model with his current model as a base and his spirit projected above it with energy and stuff swirling around him. It'll never happen but a man can dream.
I have a feeling that the Bastilodon will be broken into 2 different warscrolls. Acting almost like a Stomehorn in terms of defense. 3+ save, 5+ FNP and cant be hurt by rend. I like the idea of all the big monsters getting 3+ saves, but I'd rather see some FNPs on the Stegadon. Trogs should be our cheap yet powerful all rounder. Let them have Carnosaur mount traits, and a more reliable shooting attack WITH rend, and I will be super happy.
My biggest hope is a rework/buff to Kroxigors. I love them Maybe 4 wounds, better rend and more attacks, and a rework of the bite
Really don't want to kill your excitement but if we are announced for pre order on Sunday evening it will be Monday at the earliest for a sneak peak at some stuff. Would need to wait til the Saturday pre order before a review goes up and the warscrolls are on azyr.
the most important thing to see sunday is if there's even the slightest shadow of other new sculpts (which most probably won't happen as the kits haven't gone out of production and the slaves to darkness got their easy to build treatment only because they are going to throw those sprues in the new battlebox with elves too) and art
Not entirely true. We do get to see new warscrolls before the Preorders sometimes. Not to mention leaks.
