Probably mid March at the earliest. If it were start of march there would already be manifest for retailers.

Honestly and I’m saying this in the hopes someone from GW reads these posts, they done f@$ked up. Any and all anticipation and excitement I had for a potential release is gone now. I have all my models and my books and I have tournaments coming up that I’m going to use the old rules for, and I no longer care about getting terrain or a new book. I mean sure I’ll get it eventually but I was at a 10/10 hype ready to rebuy my entire army, but the teasing and lack of news really took the wind out of my sales. I spent my money buying an army for another game system GW does not own and so now even if they do come out with new models I won’t be buying them. That was a terrible way to announce something to a group of people that have been waiting for 5+ years.

Somewhat off-topic, but what's everyone's thoughts on if we were to be included in the next Warhammer Underworlds campaign?

IMO BeastGrave would have been a good op for us to enter the fray given our more bestial nature (don't really know the fluff of the game, so I'm basing this on the name alone lol)...then again, we're more cold & calculating so maybe not so much. If the coalesced are more savage than your average Seraphon though, then that would fit that bill perfectly, but pretty sure all the BG warbands are done. This would be one way to scratch the itch for new models, but only a quick scratch lol.

NOTE: Haven't seen this is coming or anything like that, just a general question to see everyone's take.

EDIT: Re-worded question as original wording implied this was happening. My B!

I doubt all the Warbands are done. Underworlds is one of the most successful box games gw has put out for a while. I expect we will get a warband at some point, but if it were near to our battletome then we likely would have seen rumors by now.

Why is underworld so popular anyway? Out of the various GW games I've played I've found it to be the least interesting by a significant margin.

It is a rather tactically deep game. It is very driven by a tight action economy.

It is also a good hobby game. Lots of people make their own hex board and hex fillers for impassible terrain. Because the warbands are so small you frequently see minis at near showcase quality.

Based on the white dwarf preview, would it be safe to say we aren’t getting anything February?

The models are great, it's just the actual game I don't truly see the appeal off. Maybe it's just cuz I only played with the starter set and the orruks, but none of the games I've played I really liked overly much. They were rather onesided & fairly luck based, and the various warbands seem to only really work when you properly specialise your deck into your niche, which doesn't work very well in the first few games as you have no idea what you're doing.

Underworlds is popular enough to get its own video game too. I believe it's currently in early access on Steam. The VG models don't look as realistic as they do in TWWH2, but they definitely capture the heroic aspect of AoS/Underworld pretty well IMO. I'm pretty sure GW is just repeating the pattern of the TW in order to pique interest from the virtual tabletop and then have those people jump to the actual one.

I've never been to big on deck-building games, but UW does have spectacular models!...if maybe a tad ovepriced, but it is GWs so shouldn't be surprised about that lol

Times like these make me remember the good old days when wood elf players waited 11 years for a new book.

The pace of new releases is really pretty amazing.

An update every 5 years in WHFB was amazing.
An update every 5 years in AoS is an insult.

Well, it did take 7 hrs to play a game. So play testing was slowed down ;)

Soon the anticipation will be over, and we can breathe easy. Then take a deep breath to howl at GW for their poor balance, or roar in righteous fury as we wash across our enemies, taking them with us on a rocky rapid ride.

On Underworlds, I think it's an interesting game, and think it's better served as a videogame ... I tried it out when it first arrived, and wasn't entirely sure of it. It died extremely fast locally.
