Lovely colors on those Seraphon @MackiMac! If you don't mind, would you be willing to share your Seraphon skin & scale recipe? I don't know if it's just good photos too, but those blues seem so bright and vibrant, with good contrast.
Yes of course, I happy to share. I think the lightbox makes them pop a little more than what they actually do. The basic skinks I keep very simple, to make them very fast to paint. 1. Temple guard blue on the skin and Thousand sons blue on the scales as basecoats 2. Drakehof nightshade over both skin and scale 3. Layer the skin back up with Temple guard blue, leaving the darker colour in the recesses. 4. Very light drybrush over the scales with Temple guard blue. Its easy to go overboard with the drybrush, I usually go over the scales with shade again after. 5. And the skink is done. On something larger like my Kroxigors for example, I do a couple of highlights on the skin using Temple guard blue with a little more white mixed in for each highlight. Hope this helps
awesome! can you give some advise for the watereffect on the base? i've tried it with still water and ruined a whole base ^^
I dont know what I'm doing when it comes to water effects. I used still water aswell, it dried super wierd when I used it on the base, it was really foggy and you couldnt se trough it at all. I managed remove it from the base and tried again. This time it dried clear, but after awhile it started to crack up. I glued tufts on the worst cracks and let it be.
