I fear that the added damage and sturdiness (which seems to be the coalesced theme) will be not worth losing the movement shenanigans the starborne provide. But it is really too early to tell. We know nothing about the warscrolls yet and there are many little changes that could tip the balance in one direction or another.
@Aginor the aligence ability gives an extra attack to all jaws attacks, so they are def not going to reduce jaw attacks... if anything they will increase.
Would be very nice if we could use some of both. I'm picturing a Slann with coalesced guards, summoning in starborne friends
Here is a list of what I still want to know: How are EotGs going to work Do the subfactions have their own Mandtory Command Tratis & Aretefacts How do our battalions look Spell Lore (hopefully not the same) Kroak Starseer Allies Here is what I am liking: Dracothion's Tail Fangs of Sotek Troglodon! My current views on how my first list might look: Starborn Dracothion's Tail Slann Trog EotGs Skinks! Terradons/Ripperdactyls Predatory Endless Spells???
Now they retconned things a bit, I'd like Kroq-Gar and some of the named characters to return from stasis. I also hope Kroxigor are better. These guys have been my favorite throughout the years.
Interesting that our battalions have been turned into sub-factions. I'm kind of hoping to see Shadow strike as a very skink focused faction then. It's a little bit odd that the fangs of sotek is mostly Skink focused but not giving sauras anyting. As far as I know sotek was worshipped by both.
That's all well and good, but I mean one that buffs all infantry. the individual ones that Buff specific infantry is fine, what if you want to mix them more thoroughly?
Is that a new terrain piece in the picture of the coalesced Seraphon, an alternate option from the upcoming ziggurat or a kit bash piece?
Looks custom made as it has bits from the engine of the gods i think but multiple build options for that pyramid would be nice
Just a kitbash, they do this for every army, there is always some kind of custom terrain like the bone fortress for the OB
Interesting rule changes/additions, and I think I generally like most of what I see. Unchanged basic rules for the Starborne with a new option in the Coalesced. GW did try to cater to both sides of the Seraphon fan base, but the depth of the army is possibly a little watered down due to that. To digress quickly; As a lover of fluff in my rules, I'm a little so-so on certain names. Sacred Asterisms?, instead of Constellations (sure GW likes to have unique names but that one just feels awkward to me), and Unfeeling, instead of something like Cold-Blooded (which is a legacy term for Lizardmen). But I do love that custom Seraphon terrain. How fun it must be to have any and all kit pieces with which to play. Looks like Sacred Asterisms can be used on whole armies or individual units. I wonder how that works? Scaly Skin is not quite what I expected, but if Saurus get more wounds and if it works against mortal wounds, then it's cooler. Oracle changes are surprising. Maybe ALL of our big casters (Slann, Starseer, and now Oracle) will be able to unbind & dispel anywhere on the board? And, the Oracle now gets Kroak's spell?? I don't know why I feel like this, but it doesn't quite seem to fit the character. I guess I'll have to wrap my head around this new incarnation. @Skained I'd have to imagine the Oracle is a hero based on these abilities. Let's hope the Troglodon is improved to match. Now, I really think it should have been a Troglodon or Stegadon in the new SC box. Celestite Club... yay, I guess? Spears should also be hit:4/wound:4 so less chance of me wounding despite range. Honestly, since you need to be at 1" for the bites, I think this could push me to go clubs over spears. It's nice to have the rend. IDK. Saurus are still a bit of a horde unit. Meh. At least you don't need as many. Bound Endless Spells. Now that's also very interesting. I'm sure it will come at a price; meaning likely more expensive make them "Bound". @Duo Sonata agreed. And, once again, knights are also conspicuously missing from all of the photos. I know more will be revealed, but surely both of these units aren't gone? Probably just not displayed yet. Oh... the dreamer in me has his eyes tightly closed, wishing for new knight sculpts. Ha ha!
Lots of kitbashing here. Pyramids looks to be mostly dominion of sigmar-kits with addes seraphon-bits here and there. I see stegadon bits, terradon bits and plaques from various kits. But the flat surfaces that cover many of the pyramids. At first I thought it might be the inside face of the realmshaper engine but I don't think that's a match. Maybe scratch built? Edit: Huge pictures are huge.
