A 40 block of saurus warriors as coalesced will have: +1save from starseer spell 6's to hit(wound? Which was it?) Deal mortals from starpriest -1to hit from starpriest spell (I think?) +1 to hit from koatls claws +1 to hit from oldblood CP 6+++ from AB Ignore 1 damage from coalesced. Potentially strong? Obviously the same could be applied to temple guard.
I like it! It is a nice shooting bonus for a melee monster. But I also really like the fire for handling morter guards
Spaming won't make a difference. It is D3 if you have any Astrothliths and D3 if you have either a Slann or Oracle. You can't stack them up. You will likely be always giving up 1 spell for 3 CCP. So you should average 7 CCP per turn. Which means you should in most games should have Generated 35 CCP by the end of your 5th turn.
Tell that to my 36" range bone-o-pult that hits on 2's, wounds on 3's and does 5 dmg per shot. Plus 12 wounds and only 200 points.
Yeah, maybe wait a couple weeks. @Killer Angel will put out a gernal overview I am sure, @Erta Wanderer will crunch the math hammer, and I will have written a dozen list (4 of which should actually be good) within the next two weeks.
I got into Seraphon as a way to get away from my OBR which is an army that cannot really play a friendly match, but I may have gotten too far away lol
No rend though. I would say they are pretty equal in base stats. It is the two oncer per game shots that makes it OP.
I expect nothing less For better or worse I am teaching people AoS stuff this weekend, so I won't be around Sat or Sun.
Someone can math hammer it out, but I don't think they are equal in terms of average damage. The one point of rend doesn't make that huge of a difference. Plus you are far less likely to just whiff a hit roll and are more consistent.
It has been passed over in FAQ's and GW did not nerf it, so it begs the question of why Seraphon units aren't anywhere near the same standard as a similarly functioning OBR unit.
For sure, but rend matters a lot in the meta. It helps OB a lot though. What they lack is mobility (sorta?) and horde clearing. The catapult is awesome at killing Witch Aelves and Plaugemonks. The things they need dead the quickest.
I mean, I'm with @Aginor on this one. I don't a game where everything is like DoT, OBR, & Fyreslayers. I just want those armies to be brought down to the same lvl as the rest of us
True, and I don't want to get derailed into a discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of another army in this thread, but they are my frame of reference for evaluation, and nothing shown so far strikes me as remotely threatening to them.
Hard to say how all these new warscrolls are looking. We are missing a ton of information in regards to synergies, but the basic weapon profiles so far seem lacking. It's disappointing to hear that we are STILL being asked to give something up in order to summon, when most factions generate summoning points passively by simply playing the game. If we are making such sacrifices in order to summon, and our summoning has been neutered, then our units should not have a summoning point tax like we have seen in the past I am concerned that we have taken heavy nerfs to summoning and teleporting, and not been buffed elsewhere. So far I feel like we have lost a lot of tools and weapons, and not seen them really replaced. If we aren't getting buffed in the warscrolls themselves, then I fear we will be horribly reliant on specific allegiance abilities and spells. Which, if that was the case, why did they not showcase these things in the past week to build hype? Overall, I haven't been terribly impressed, and am thinking I will order the regular Battle Tome instead of the CE.
