Hey Guys, I have a video battle report that I will be filming at a major YouTube channel at the end of the month. Could you guys give me some feedback on the following list? I already will have to be painting the temple and some guard (proxy for warriors) for the EotG (*grumble) and I have 40 points to spare right now. Allegiance: Seraphon Coalesced Sub-faction: Thunder Lizards 1 x Troglodon (260) Command Trait: Prime Warbeast Spell: Fiery Convocation 1 x Engine of the Gods (260) Artefact: Fusil of Conflagration 1 x Bastiladon (220) Solar Engine 1 x Bastiladon (220) Solar Engine 3 x Salamanders (240) 1 x Thunderquake Temple-Host (150) 1 x Slann (260) Artefact: Ixgi Grubs Spell: Celestial Apotheosis 10 x Stinks (60) Blowpipes & Starbuckler 10 x Stinks (60) Blowpipes & Starbuckler 10 x Stinks (60) Blowpipes & Starbuckler 1 x Skink Priest (70) 4 ENDLESS SPELL / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS Lifeswarm bound (60) Burning Head bound (40) TOTAL: 1960/2000 EXTRA COMMAND POINT: 1 WOUNDS: 111
Stegadon helm artefact seems good, gives the EotG +1 save and +1 hits on all of the stegedon attacks.
Take something else instead of the Troglodon. It's too expensive for what it does. Putting Prime Warbeast and Stegadon Helm on the EoTG would be good. Maybe take Geminids instead of the Burning Head.
How competitive are you going to be? Coalesced army with only 30 skinks will have problem taking objectives. Trog is very questionable, since you already have Slann.
The question of how competitive is the channel is pertinent. I'm a fan of the Trog, but I agree he is way too expensive. Either switch him for a Scar Vet/OldBlood, and have a few points to work with, or go straight for the Skink Chief on Stegadon. That's just my ¢2 for now.
Hey guys. Thanks for the feedback. I could run more skinks if you guys think that's good. Unfortunately I do not have a normal steg so that's out. Is a carno really better than a trog in lizards? Also its GMG so he's not super competitive. (Man who reads book)
I do think a Scarvet taking the place of the Trog will work better as a scary hammer. That would also leave you points to turn the Slann you have into Kroak.... Of course, that's just me. Could definitely make the Engine the General and do as @Acehilator recommended with him.
That's going to be nice. Regarding Carno vs Trog, Carno is a bit squishy but at least hits like a truck (unless vs Petrifex or whatever). Troglodon has an identity crisis. +1 to cast on a 260 points model with only one cast/phase is highly questionable. You are already hamstringing yourself with weak board presence and the Bastiladons, so you can easily afford to take the stronger option even in regards to a friendly game. Saurus command traits are meh, make the Slann the general with the +1 to cast trait to make it rain MW.
Allegiance: Seraphon Coalesced Sub-faction: Thunder Lizards 1 x Old Blood on Carnosaur (250) Command Trait: Prime Warbeast Artefact: Fusil of Conflagration 1 x Engine of the Gods (260) Artefact: Stegadon Helm 1 x Bastiladon (220) Solar Engine 1 x Bastiladon (220) Solar Engine 3 x Salamanders (240) 1 x Thunderquake Temple-Host (150) 1 x Slann (260) Spell: Celestial Apotheosis 1 x Skink Starpriest (120) Spell: Fiery Convocation 20 x Stinks (120) Blowpipes & Starbuckler 10 x Stinks (60) Blowpipes & Starbuckler 10 x Stinks (60) Blowpipes & Starbuckler ENDLESS SPELL / TERRAIN / COMMAND POINTS Burning Head bound (40) TOTAL: 2000/2000 EXTRA COMMAND POINT: 1 WOUNDS: 122 Here is some changes with the suggestions above. I don't actually own a Scar-Vet and will not have time to paint a new one with the Temple in that time. I have tried to add more skinks for a presence. I cut the Trog and added in the Old-Blood. Burning Head was chosen as the spell because it gives the Bastilidons rerolls which should help their shooting, especially under double shots. Lastly a star priest was included to round out the list and add in some free mortal production. It's not ideal but what I have on hand. I could have added more endless spells instead but figured they would be wasted considering the slann can only cast 1 a turn. How does it look now?
You can get RR1 to hit one a single unit with a Skink spell (Hand of Glory). I really don't like the Burning Head, lol. But that's just personal preference and nuances. List looks nice, have fun!
The carnosaur is most pleasing, you won’t be disappointed by how it does (unless petrifex). Looks like a fun list to play, hope it does well
