Talking about bravery. There is quite a number of _different_ (thus stacking) bravery debuffing abilities in our army. I wonder if we can build a list that forces the enemy to run (or spend their CP for gaining immunity). Saurus Knights + Carnosaur + Purple Sun + Gnashing Jaws is a -4 already, and if both spells are bound and our army is Coalesced (so not affected by the debuff of the Purple Sun) then it can just accompany the Firelance Templehost, so some damage and cause some fun in the battleshock phase. But now that I have read through the rules a few times I think my first two list attempts will be - shooting army, Skink based. - magic army, using bound endless spells. Probably not competitive but I mostly play for fun anyway.
Yeah but everyone and their mother has an absurd amount of CP (or they're bravery 10) these days and just slap inspiring presence wherever is needed
Good. Force them to use their resource. The only army it wouldn't work against is OBR. And anyway, you have to trigger battleshock by harming units. And we have plenty of damage output to do so. Even basic units can force battleshock with only a few attacks. Bravery 10 is also where the Saurians Roar comes into play. You turn that into a 5.
I think Skaven and one or two others also have a cheap way to ignore battleshock for the whole army. But it could work against most.
Yep. Almost all skaven armies bring 1-2 bells/furnaces that have an ability (free) 13" ignore battleshock for skaven units. The Warpseer has a CA to ignore battleshock within 26".
And sniping the bell is hard because it benefits from Look Out Sir in both melee and shooting. However, a 40 group of skinks in a Shadowstrike would take it down.
Hey all, are my warscroll cards correct in saying saurus knights celestite spears are 1 inch range? While Celestite spears for a everyone else Are 2 inch?
That is not really a use for a 260 points model. If you don't use his mobility and combat advantages over a Slann, you are pretty much doing it wrong.
It may be a Typo. Send it in a Feedback and FAQ email to GW. Almost all Spears are 2" range, in the game, as far as I know.
It could be, but I do know a temporary fix to the lack of range. Take your saurus knights in two ranks of 5. When the charge the front rank should create gaps in the line for the second line of knights to fill, thus allowing them to engage the most amount of enemy units why keeping the unit condensed while moving
Actually, no. Black Knights have pretty long lances but they are 1", mighty Skullcrushers also have 1" on their Glaives, Hexwraith Scythes are 1", and Saurus Knights have always had 1". But yeah, pretty much everyone else has 2" on lances, spears and other pole arms, even Grots.
Yeah, some things are really weird. You'd expect that with each new battletome, GW would tend to give a certain consistency to things as basic kind of weapons.
I think my next list is gonna be 110 saurus... 5 units of 20 and 1 unit of 10 in double sunclaw. I dunno why I just cant get the pure efficiency of saurus out of my head. The math on them is kind of insane. They trade well with anything in the game
What heroes are you thinking of bringing? I’m guessing and Oldblood and sunblood and some starpriests?
