The thing on the back of the hand looks like those bone growths unique to Death Guard models. On second look it is more rounded than those typically are, so coooould be battle damage, but I don't think so.
God I hope AoS gets an equally nice box as this new one for 40K I don't think we've seen a boxed game with quite as much stuff in a while.
I think it has to do with how they have been doing such a good job with the psychic awakening. Also I think theyre scared to try it out with aos
Lumineth army box significantly less interesting than the 40K box, it's basicly a glorified start collecting set.
To be honest what I find weird about it is that it's only 3 units, if you're going to make an "army box" at least put in enough stuff to resemble an army. Ignoring that 3 units aren't anywhere near enough to make an actual list with, this isn't even enough to make the core of a list. At least give something like 2x basic line unit, 1 support unit 1 elite unit & a hero for the general.
They did what now? Psychic Awakening is a dumpster fire of epic proportions and a case study of how NOT to do game development, both from a models/collecting and gameplay point of view.
Ahh I see someones 40k faction didnt get much love and theyre salty. Its okay my friend. They'll get ya maynes in 9th ed
shit my 40k main did get love and im salty. Tyranids are basically the BOC of 40k right now... not quite as bad... but still.
I run nids, salamanders, orks, and space corgis. I love the new rules and i feel blood of Baal made nids not as efficient as they were in the hive fleet kraken(I miss you kraken dakkafexs) days but id say theyre sitting fine if you run a heavy psyker army(dad has so many zoanthropes) Orks just made gazzy obnoxious(and fucking uuge) and I think they will do great(havent actually tested em out. Dont ask me ask my friend cal for them hes got 20k points for them and too many d6s) Space wolves are space wolves its barely effected em because the corgis are way better for just fighting(because its time to smash) and made ragnar quite possibly one of the most bonkers hqs you could run(and hes very pretty in his updated model). Salamanders.....(sets world ablaze) I like flamestorm aggressors..... And salamanders are just fun because fire is fun.(screams in the backgrounds) do you smell bacon?
This has exactly zero to do with getting love for my faction. If you can't see what's wrong with the whole Psychic Awakening setup I really don't know what to say. It's way too obvious - from pathetic amount of new model releases, to rules bloat months before the release of 9E, to missing balance fixes to old problems existing for years, to completly failing to adress a SM superdoctrine mechanic/mono-codex incentive for other races etc. But sure, it's all great.
*laughs in combi-weapon* If there's one thing I'm really looking forward to in the new edition, it's that my HH/1st Company Salamanders minis are no longer obligated to cram 3 tactical squads into a veteran-heavy list just for a decent pool of command points.
While airbrushing this "Covenant of Fire" army list last year, I used Chaos Black primer with Caliban Green pre-shading, followed by Moot Green (highlights), White Scar (overcast), and Waywatcher Green (glaze).
Yep, got a helmetless Vulkan He'stan in there. Still have to get the other Vulkan (i.e. the primarch) at some point, but for now I'm content to run an old Chaplain Xavier model as my warlord.
