Bingo! Have one of those things cook under the sun and inside the car on a 35 °C day... and then have it touch your skin! OUCH
This is too true to life for me like. I had kind loving parents but I know more than a few people who grew up in abusive households. It's actually sadder when the kid realizes their abusive mother can shut her abuse off any time she chooses.
This was actually a plot point in Hancock. I wonder if Superman was drunk. Hancock was a great movie. I like Will Smith but he hasn't been the same since he filmed After Earth. None of the stuff he's done after After Earth was near that bad but I haven't really enjoyed anything he's done since. In Superman's defense he could have injured the kid by moving him too fast though I've never seen that come up before. That's something Spiderman had to deal with him. He once caught someone who was falling but she died from the whiplash. Latin Americans love to remind us that the entire Western hemisphere is America. Futurama played with this, referring to Bender. "Built in America's Heartland...Mexico!"
To be fair, the "folklore" part can indeed be kept separated from "fictional". Still fun, nonetheless.
