    That reminds me: I almost lost my waterproof camera to the abyss that is the Marianas Trench during my last deployment.

    The day before we arrived in Guam, we got an opportunity to jump off the side of the ship for a swim over the Trench, and silly me decided that he was going to risk losing their camera for some cool shots while in the water. Not a second after hitting the water, the lanyard slipped of my wrist.
