Hello folks, I'm new to Age of Sigmar, although I do have years of wargames experience. I started off with 2nd ed 40K, went onto WhFB, Necromunda, and Epic:Armageddon. Recently I have been playing Flames of War, Frostgrave and Gaslands. Anyway, my friends have been building up 500pt forces to play AoS; Stormcasts, Nighthaunts and Nurgle. I always wanted to played Lizardmen back in the day but never got around to it, so now's my chance! I want to get myself one of the two Get Started packs but not sure which way to go - I like them both! Never having played a single game of AoS, can someone please explain how the two differing forces play? I understand that in bigger armies it'd be feasible to get both, but currently they both weigh in at 478 and 501pts so are ideal for our starting level. Cheers in advance, Stug

Hellow my cold blooded recently spawned friend welcome to the forums!!!! I am an experienced saurus and my fights in the realms have theached me some things Well both forces are interesting in their unique way the skink start collecting is focused around speed and high magic and missile damage but you also assemble the ark of sotek, ryperadactyl raiders and skinks with shields and clubs to have close combat force but my personal opinion is that you need a midium point maybe you could build up the ark of sotek, and the skinks with clubs to act as your tank and main line army respectively so they take all the damage and the skink stratpriest and terradons riders with ignite boulders smite away the enemy’s of the great plan or you can build the solar engine, the terradon riders and the skink skirmishers. With this build you should put the solar engine in one edge of the table and the skink priest next to him to deal damage the same time the terradon riders and skirmished bother and distract the enemy. As you can see the skink box has lots of options and posibilltyies the main problem with this box is the lack of a tough frontline infantry The other box’s is exactly like we are the saurus direct and forward the saurus warriors are and Awsome unit to do the first principle of war “all attack should be awnsered with and equal defense and a stronger attack” and the the saurus knigths are a great flaking unit with great damage Respect the hq choice you can build kro’gar(old blood) or a scar veteran Or even a troglidon wich is great to disipate spells and Flank the enemy this box has less options but has some great units if you are a close combat fanatic the saurus box is for you but if you want multiple units and diferent possibilities the skink box is perfect
