My current list is 1970/2000. What do people do with stuff like this? would have to really adjust a tweak some stuff to drop down for the bonus command point at 50 pts. or swap stuff around and mess with the current feel/plan of attack. can 30 pts just be negligible in AoS? attached is my warscrolls current test list. 90% based on rule of cool model selection or planned conversions.
Talking general terms, being below 2000pts will help you get the triumph bonus, which are actually pretty good when you remember to use them. There are also some cheap endless spells that might not do a lot but can fill a niche role like Quicksilver swords that are pretty good vs daemons or prismatic palisade for board control or LoS blocking. As for your list I would for sure drop the cammos and use the 30+90 points to get a Starpriest. Both knights and Skinks love the starpriest buff and skinks especially are very lack luster without it. I would also argue that the starpriest also a way cooler model than the old cammos.
thanks for the tip! Does that take hold true for a unit of cammos at 10 models too? i know some units probably have sweet spot model counts to be more effective. It is a lot of after market lizard proxies and such, so I agree the GW cammo models arnt the prettiest.
Yes chammos likes the starpriest very much. You generally want big units because all of our stuff is very buff dependant. On their own most of our warscroll are just really bad, so the best way to construct any list is large base units + appropriate buff heroes. This is generally why people go pure skinks or pure saurus, too many points to support both so you pick one and add their synergy chars.
Triumphs are awesome. Reroll saves and wounds are both huge and if you consider that most people would pay for a CP to ultimately use on a command ability that's just as good (if not worse) than the triumphs, getting them for ~30 points is pretty awesome.
ended up playing with a lot of points. moving some items around. For example... the steg with chief seems pretty good... mind as well upgrade that regular to a chief dropping the cammos for the starpriest but with the above mentioned steg upgrade... could only take the starseer OR the astro banner... the spell casting buffs compared to additional CP and spells from the seer. as well as the D3 conjure points a turn... My game plan is usually summoning a salamander squad
